Living a Name
by misscam

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Summary: Try not to break the world while saving it, would you? The Doctor through the lives he touches. [The Doctor, Death, Caesar. Vaguely implied Doctor/M, Spock/Uhura, Dean/Castiel, Jaina/Thrall, Doctor/Chromie, Lloyd/Olivia, Laura/Bill]

Author's Note: Doctor Who meets James Bond, Star Trek, World of Warcraft, Supernatural, Rome, FlashForward, BSG and Discworld. Um, what to say. Massive crossover of doom?

The Doctor's timeline is not outright stated, but references to past companions makes this at least after the fourth series. The James Bond part is set during Judi Dench's M era, Star Trek is after the 2009 reboot movie, World of Warcraft during Wrath of the Lich King, Supernatural at some undisclosed time after the start of season four, Rome prior to the series, FlashForward at some point in the latter half of season one, Battlestar Galactica towards the end of season four and Discworld at no set time at all.

You don't respect authority, you make your own rules and break them still. You won't carry a gun but will use people as weapons if you have to. You save the world and lets everyone else clean up the aftermath. I don't know where you'll be tomorrow and you're completely unreliable, but you always seem to arrive at just the right time anyway. You have a file the size of the Bank of England in our archives and yet no one knows your name. You're completely irresponsible and just a touch mad and now you want me to give you security clearance and Q for a day for a matter of 'universal importance'. Tell me, Doctor, why should I? )

Add Up
by [personal profile] misscam

Rating: PG.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Summary: The President can't count, the Admiral is a math genius, and Bill and Laura don't add up. Yet. [Hints of Adama/Roslin]

Author's Note: Set at the end of series three. Written on a prompt from [profile] whatever_lj – thanks for your help!

'Were your words not 'get me a frakking drink, Admiral'?' )

Frakking Consequences
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: Everything has consequences, Kara. Especially drugging the President, the Admiral and the CAG. [Adama/Roslin, Kara/Lee, Sam, Dee]

Rating: Teen. Implied adult activities and drug use.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: While we were both signing up to do [profile] bsg_remix, I told [personal profile] lotus79 I knew which of hers I would do if I got her as an assignment. I didn't, but the idea stayed with me and [personal profile] lotus79 got quite curious about it all and kindly let me use her story. She also very graciously betaed this piece. So, this is a remix of Improper Conduct.
That was silly. This is really not. Issues of dubious consent. Set during season three, before Maelstrom.

'Of all the irresponsible things you've done over the years, Kara...' he pauses, shaking his head a little at the ceiling. 'This, this is a whole new level.' )

(To the shock of no one, I wrote this - as well as another remix I'll post tomorrow.)

Imagine the Sky
or Five Fantasies Bill and Laura Shared (and One Reality They Lived With)
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: She has made a virtue of accepting realities too much to stop now. That leaves the fantasies. [Adama/Roslin]

Rating: Light mature. Sexual activities.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: Set after "Blood on the Scales", before "Islanded in a Stream of Stars". Written on a challenge from [profile] whatever_lj, to include five objects. Bonus points if you spot them. Much thanks to [profile] lyricalviolet for beta.

I hope you didn't promote me so using my military rank would sound better in your fantasies )

Life in a Box
By Camilla Sandman

Summary: The day Laura Roslin informally moves into Bill's quarters (and not just temporarily), she brings a single box and a bag of clothes. He probably shouldn't look, but he does. [Adama/Roslin]

Rating: Teen.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: References to "Blood on the Scales", not particulary spoilery. [personal profile] lotus79 challenged me to write a fic using a favourite item broken beyond repair, a small clay frog, a book of Kataris poems, a hidden photograph and some lines of Bon Jovi lyrics. This is the result. Thanks to [profile] lyricalviolet for beta.

Why is the military going through the President's personal affairs? )

Five Times Bill and Laura Lived A Little, and One Time After
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: Laura and Bill, living a little. He doesn't think it will quite last. [Adama/Roslin]

Rating: PG

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: Through season three and four, spoilers fairly vague. Thanks to [profile] lyricalviolet for beta. For [profile] adama_roslin's Month of Love.

She is thinking of making a cabin, she told him. He is thinking about visiting her there. Bring her books, accept drinks and dinner. Chat into the later hours, find it too late to leave that evening. Kiss her. Be kissed. Find she only has one bed, but one bed enough.  )

by Camilla Sandman

Summary: One morning, humanity wakes to its near-extinction. It won't be the first time. [Implied Adama/Roslin]

Rating: G.

Disclaimer: Not my universe, just my words as I play in it.

Author's Note: Vague implied spoilers for beyond the mini-series. Nothing explicit. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lotus79 for accidental beta work on this when I was just trying to test the premise on her, and for holding my cyber-hand when I was feeling a bit down. Love ya, babe.

Happily Ever Afters (Are Not Your Absolution)
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: There aren't always happy endings, even with a time machine. [Doctor Who/Battlestar Galactica crossover. Adama/Roslin, the Doctor, Lee/Martha, (implied Kara/Lee)]

Rating: Teen. Non-explicit naughty activities.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: Set during BSG's 'Daybreak' (series finale) and Doctor Who's season three. Knowledge of both shows is very helpful. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lyricalviolet for beta.

Another one to put on his historical CV – 'punched in the nose by William Adama'. It will go well with 'ears boxed by Catherine the Great', really.  )

Die a Dawn
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: Sometimes, just before she fell asleep, Kara would try to remember dying. All she ever remembered was the light. [Lee/Kara, minor Adama/Roslin]

Rating: Teen.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: For [livejournal.com profile] lyricalviolet, as offered. Thanks for years of awesome beta work and support! Set during Daybreak. I just pretend this belongs there as missing scenes. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lotus79 for beta – sorry about making you cry.

Love and Simplicity: A Murder on Galactica 2/2
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: It started like it always did. With a body. It wasn't Laura Roslin's. But it was clearly intended to be. [Adama/Roslin, Tigh, some Kara/Lee, tiny Helo/Athena, Baltar, Doc Cottle]

Rating: Teen. Some adult activities, nothing too explicit.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: Set post-Blood on the Scales, pre-Deadlock. With BSG's timeline being a little confused, I'm just mushing this in there as if it belongs. Ahem. There is a reworked Babylon 5 line in here, you'll know it if you see it. I owe much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] falena84 and [livejournal.com profile] lotus79, who both pushed, begged, mocked and helped me with this story. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lyricalviolet for beta.

Discussing who would want to kill you is not much of a turn-on, Laura )

(To be concluded in part two.)

Oh Berlusconi, you're just made of fail, aren't you. Says he about the earthquake survivors:

But Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi appeared to brush aside the dire conditions facing survivors during a visit to one of the camps. "They have everything they need, they have medical care, hot food...," he said in an interview with a German television station. "Of course, their current lodgings are a bit temporary. But they should see it like a weekend of camping."

*facepalm* Weekend of camping? They've just lost their homes, been traumatized, possibly lost people they know and are in fear of aftershocks, of which there have already been several - that ain't like no camping I've been on. Berlu, are you trying to weasel your way into 'soulnemesis' status here now that I retired Bush from it or something?

Ugh.

In brighter news, have written over 5000 words on my Doctor Who/BSG crossover and am almost done. Just gotta fiddle a bit with the draft and settle on a title, which can be such a pain. So a question for people who know Latin out there - what would 'doctor in the box' be in Latin? I'm considering making a play on 'deus ex machina', but my Latin is non-existent.

Funny thing, writing a story. It so often evolves as you're doing it, going unexpected places and sometimes ending up as something a little bit foreign to even you.

Speaking of fanfics, return of the 'I'm going to publish Twilight fanfiction!' saga of DOOM. Oh dear. There's dumb, and there's that.

Podcasts, as voted for in mah poll:
Cam reads 'The Art of Not Having Sex'. (Doctor Who)
Cam reads 'Sleeping With Your Laundry'. (BSG)

Now my dear darling cat, I do adore you very much, which is why I bought that tasty fish for you and why I let you sleep in my bed with me. But in 'Ways to Wake Camilla Up Because I Want Something', I would very much appreciate it if you took 'poking her breasts with this paw with the claws out' off the list. Because ow.

How are you all on this Wednesday?

Again, and Always
(or Five Last Times for Bill and Laura and One First)
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: She hums at the back of her throat and his heart seems to hum with it. Laura. Laura again, and always. [Adama/Roslin]

Rating: Teen. Some non-explicit naughtiness.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: Spoilers up to Daybreak, with a few scenes of what might have happened next. If I was allowed to write it, anyway. Utter sap in parts. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lyricalviolet for beta.

He knows he doesn't say the words often, but he thinks he must be telling her every time he just looks at her. )

First weekend of no more new BSG. WAH.

But I am coping by writing fic.

[livejournal.com profile] falena84 talked me into writing a crime fic for BSG in honour of Norway 'crime time' Easter tradition. (Weirdly as it sounds, Easter is high time in Norway for reading crime books, watching crime mini-series on television and things like that. We call it 'Easter crime', and it's tradition and no one knows why.) So now I'm writing a fic where a murder victim looks to have meant to be Laura Roslin, Saul Tigh and Lee Adama are sort of being Sherlock and Watson, Bill and Laura are frakking lots and reading murder mysteries in bed really bad at staying out of the investigation and Kara is threatening a lot of violence. And possibly doing Lee, if [livejournal.com profile] lotus79 has her way with me. Set post-Blood on the Scales.

Some snippets (the 'Love and Bullets' references intentional):

It started like it always did. With a body. )

I actually got time off next week, so I can write on this, hurrah. Haven't done casefiles since the days of writing CSI fanfic, really. That feels like a really long time ago now. I do love me some murder mysteries and crime and it's a fairly large chunk of what I read and watch both.

Speaking of crime, I give you the sort of stuff you only usually see in movies: Guy tries robbery at narcotics police convention. The Associated Press news agency reported that when a journalist asked the suspect for comment as he was led from court, he said: "I'm smooth." You sure are, dude.

An albino brown bear has been born here in Norway, in a zoo. She's been named Salt, and her brown brother is Pepper. You can see pictures of them here. Awww.

Red Dwarf will be out with a new special soon (OMG YAY) and in honour of that you can win some Dwarf prizes. I want Rimmer's H, personally.

An Italian iniative via Facegroup to send condoms to the Pope. I'm actually sorely tempted to also send some, because the Pope has been pissing me off something fierce with his stupid condom remarks. The world has many issues, and going after what prevents a good deal of STDs and unwanted pregnancies is the Vatican's choice? BITE ME VATICAN. But LOL at these special condoms made in the Pope's honour.

Volunteers flock to 'Mars' experiment. The volunteers will apparently be inside a small metal container for three months without any communication with the outside world, with electronic monitors attached to various parts of the body and with frozen baby food and cereal bars for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Er. I'm all for scientific progress, but I think I would pass on that one. I don't think I would cope too well. Clasutrophobia is not an issue for me, but living so much on top of other people would be, I'm pretty sure.

After a suicide, police officers gave the seperated wife her man's belongings - including the rope he used to kill himself with. Oh, good grief. And this story is just depressing me majorly. I'm sure prejudice had nothing to do with that, no no. Perish that thought. /sarcasm

How's your weekend going?

Break My Heart (And Hope to Die)
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: She never meant to break his heart. [Adama/Roslin, Boomer, Chief.]

Rating: Teen. Some adult activities, non-explicit.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, not my words.

Author's Note: Set during "Someone to Watch Over Me". Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lyricalviolet for beta – good luck with the snow!

II

He still kisses the pulse in her wrist; her heartbeats are the only thing between him and losing his own. )

Return Policy
By Camilla Sandman

Rating: Teen.

Summary: Bill has no return policy. The universe is not so kind. Love, loss and life blending on Galactica. [Adama/Roslin]

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: Through No Exit and Deadlock, scenes I would have liked to have seen. As usual, many great thanks to my beta [livejournal.com profile] lyricalviolet.

II

Sometimes, Laura thinks there are numbers etched into her skin, just as the photographs in Galactica's memorial hall seem etched into the skin of the ship itself. Galactica's are the dead, hers are the living, and every gain for Galactica is a loss for her.  )
misscam: (Love you)
The Universe Doesn't Turn Any Kinder (Love's Never Fair)
by Camilla Sandman

Rating: PG

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Summary: The problem of love is this – it's never fair. Meet a man that will one day join hearts with you, and it's at the end of the world. Fall in love with a woman that you can share books with, and she's dying of cancer. Finally sleep together and start a relationship, and days after, the world goes to hell and mutiny. [Adama/Roslin]

Author's Notes: Spoilers up to "Blood on the Scales". Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lyricalviolet for beta.

II

She would tear a battlestar apart to find him, but when Laura Roslin sees William Adama again, she can't even manage a few steps to walk up to him.  )

All Care and Have None
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: Bill is all care. Laura is trying not to have one. [Adama/Roslin]

Rating: Teen. Non-explicit sex.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: Set during 'A Disquiet Follows My Soul', hence spoilers for that episode. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] miri_d, [livejournal.com profile] siraj and [livejournal.com profile] lotus79 for input and beta.

II

Laura is waiting in the dark for him when Bill enters her quarters, only a few candles scattered like stars in space to give light. It reminds him strangely of youth, when romance was all notions and not yet experience, but they are not teenagers and he loves the lines on her skin for what they make her.  )

Human Familiarities
by Camilla Sandman

Summary: They've turned off the lights again, and she knows her answers and explanations yesterday were not good enough. [Adama/Roslin]

Rating: Teen. Some implied unpleasant – and pleasant! - activities, nothing graphic.

Disclaimer: Not my characters, just my words.

Author's Note: AU from mid-season four. Implies a rather different discovery in Revelations than the one seen on screen. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lyricalviolet for beta.

II

Bill, beloved Bill, who is here to be her weakness and she to be his. Two weeks alone she spent in this cell, sure of her own will to endure anything. Four days with him here, and she feels rage and fear growing in equal measure.  )
