So thought of you when Rose said they were in Norway!
As an ending, a departure, as I've already said over on T&C, this didn't do it for me. I was hoping for something that would give Rose (and me) closure, and I didn't get it. Lots of emotion, sure, and that he cared enough to come and say goodbye was lovely, as was the acting when the two of them were on opposite sides of the wall.
Positive: Rose Tyler, Defender of the Earth. I liked that. She didn't go back to shop-work - not that Pete would ever have let that happen.
Negative: she didn't choose to leave, either as a positive thing to go back to her reunited 'parents', or as a decision to do it to save the Earth, or the Doctor. Yes, she was sucked through because she was trying to stop the lever being pulled, but I didn't get the impression that she knew she could get sucked in.
Anyway - yes, lots of scope for fic. Meeting an alt-Jack, yes; what about an alternate Doctor? As far as I remember, he didn't rule out the possibility that there could be a version of him in the parallel universe. Or reunion fic through some route or other - will probably write one myself one of these days.
