On Star Trek agendas in CSI and what broke Cam's brain

I'm now on LJ Talk. Download a program if you want to chat, I guess. If I'm on your friendlist and on, you can see me there and say hey. (Though probably not today, as I am about to go snooze.)

So, I read around and come across Shankar's Star Trek agenda in CSI:
personally, shankar is the one who has pushed the catherine/warrick storyline. i feel that he is again attempting a bi-racial relationship because his efforts to bring troi/worf together on star trek: the next generation did not thrill fans and ultimately failed. the parallels between the two are stricking and i foresee the same fate for the catherine/warrick line as that of troi/worf.

... Right. So because he failed to hook up two aliens in Star Trek, he's going for two criminalists in CSI. I see. As you would. Uh huh.

She goes on:
Oh please, don't get me started! If Naren Shankar or anyone else for that matter see Grissom/Catherine relationship as an brother sister thing, than what is this very twisted father daughter relationship with Grissom and Sara JEEZ! There is no chemistry between them what so ever, it's ackward to watch and it just make me wanna switch The channel and blow my brains out.
And I would like to remind that opposites attracts each other. JING AND YANG BABY!!!

Jing and Yang, you say? So tell me, is that anything like yin and yang or is this a new version?

CSI shipper trenches makes me sad. (Why as seen in my OTP opinionage.) I sense many grenades to get lobbed as season seven hits.

In other wanks my brain broke trying to read all that. When it got to "Social ism of the Sweden kind is left wing", I was just happy Norway wasn't dragged into it for once. Oi.

I better get my brain repaired. Yes. Maybe I'll play some CivilizationIII and pretend I'm being a Socialist Meanie ruling the world. That always cheers me up.

They should take a look at what Shankar did on Farscape, then, if they think he's all about the fluffy bunnies, ship-wise.

Ah, the crazy.

There's nothing like fandom to make me loathe a portion of humanity with the same seething disgust that I normally reserve for Bush.

Do these people even watch the same show as I do?

Man, you don't know Jing and Yang? He's the bro of Jing Cong, of course!

That Star Trek parallel makes my brain hurt. We all know Troi and Riker are the OTP!!! *waves fist* Imzadi forever!
I just so totally exposed myself, didn't I? Yes, I have a thing for men with beards apparently...

All in all, for all the praise Shankar's been getting, I'm really not so sure about him.

Sounds like a cool slash pairing to me, if I could figure out where Jing and Yang were from...

Didn't Worf wind up hooking up with Dax on DS9 anyway?

Speaking as a Trek fan, Worf/Troi failed miserably because Dorn is an excellent actor and Sitris is not. Dorn was bringing all kinds of chemistry and Sitris was just sort of... floating. She works much better with Frakes, who's as bland and whitebread as she is, which is why Troi/Riker won the day.

Frakes is a damn good director. I'm sure Sitris has her talents as well. But neither of them could act their way out of a paper bag.

o_O This is why I prefer to simply do the "point and laugh hysterically behind a electric barbed-wire fence 50 meters away" when it comes to 'ship wars and all that. XD

Jing and Yang? Damn, what the hell have they been teaching me in my east Asian history class?! Was all that money for nothing?! *cries*

I prefer a benevolent totalitarian - I don't get to blow stuff up but usually am the first to win on the "Alien Life" ending.

Cutest. Icon. Ever!!!

Amusingly enough, jing yang in Mandarin proper usually means reverence and/or respect.

This is so soap opera-esque. It's like a bunch of middle-aged moms in curlers gossiping about Montana's paternity case, and how she should really be with Bryce.

I'm trying to be amused by these people. And stay out of it for the most part, using your recaps to keep up and stay amused.

Hey: Cam, the Norwegian female John Stewart!
