Yeah, I hope so too. But when it comes to online fandom, we're not exactly talking about the most stable people here to begin with. They aren't adding to the empowerment of women with their attitudes.

And I'm certainly not saying that Hollywood is the place to look to examine how far women have come, but the recent spate of "bride" films that have come out of the American film industry has somewhat horrified me.
