Israel and traffic lights and other light notes on a Thursday

"Israel says diplomats' decision not to call for a halt to its Lebanon offensive at a Middle East summit has given it the green light to continue."

I think I rolled my eyes so far back in my head I could see my brain doing some rolling as well.

Israel, in the immortal words of fandom-wank, bitch, please. The best you can say is that the world has given you a yellow light because they can't agree on whether to use a traffic light, a traffic warden or a Zidane headbutt. Also, they'd like to give Hezbollah a speeding ticket so very badly, so they're a bit distracted by that too.

Blah.

Meanwhile, freak weather hits Norway. That thunderstorm kept me awake half the night - very loud and very thundery. Didn't rain, of course, so still hot like whoa. Something sure ain't right when we got higher or the same tempratures in northern and middle Europe as places near the Sahara.

Sweden is invited to look over Norway's environment plans. Now that is a neat idea, if you ask me. Your neighbour does have a certain interest in you not spewing pollution all over it, after all. Though the idea of Norway becoming less oil dependent at the same time as we're the world's third largest oil exporter does seem a bit ironic.

I've realised I like work a lot more when I'm actually at it than the rest of the time. Probably because I resent the idea of getting up a lot more before I do. Once you're awake, you're awake. You tend not to feel just how early you got up until evening again.

Hum, this thing is turning into 'Cam's light notes on working 8-4'. In my defence, I haven't done it in yonks. Work from home sure spoils you, in a way. Also makes you more of a hermit, I suppose. Of course, I am Norwegian, and we do have certain hermit tendencies. Least densely populated country of Europe and all.

There's a whole slew of you with birthdays today, so happy birthday! I'm usually terrible at remembering them, I'm afraid. Yep, I suck. But here's a all-compassing 'yay you for getting older' greeting.

How the days do pass - but they could pass more quickly so I could go back to freelance working and staying up late...

Finally, I'm bored, so a meme for those with fondness for lists: Ask me for my top 5 list of anything, and I'll tell you.

Hmm... Top five computer games. ;)

Also, Israel: *facepalm*

Quite. In fact, it's more like *facefist*.

1. Baldur's Gate II
2. Diablo II
3. Civilization III
4. Might and Magic VII
5. Half-Life I

Whee!

Only if it's their face. ;)

Iiinteresting. I've never played Half Life, but it's one Luke plays on occasion. I've also never played M&M, and just discovered the version of Civ I had was 2 and not 3. So I will have to get ahold of 3, methinks.

No Sims 2?

Oh, I like Sims2 as well, but it's a tight race for the five top spots and I play those games more, quite simply. M&M7 is even quite old and I still adore it.

It's more a sort of personal preference list than quality list, really.

Hee, well it was a personal preference list I was looking for, after all. ;)

*plays more freecell*

I've been watching Nine today, I think it may have stirred my muse a bit. Here's hoping, eh?

Fingers crossed!
