Thoughts on telly: Doctor Who, FlashForward (Eurosong)

Doctor Who. YOU BASTARDS YOU KILLED RORY. I FLASH MY ICON AT YOU.
Ahem.
Right. This isn't permanent, right? RIGHT? Something is going on with the crack and the forgetting and I do hope it ties together in a satisfying way come the finale. Because I sure don't have all good experiences with season finales of Doctor Who and I am slightly worried about the resolution here. Piece of the TARDIS in the rift, so does the Doctor get stuck there? And Amy has to remember him to save him? On the other hand, that might be too obvious. Hum.
See, this is why I always read the last pages of a book first. I hate not knowing where it's ending up. Hate it like whoa. I like to know. *eyes Moffat sternly*
I'm probably really weird like that.
Anyway, humans being humans was awesome. Good and bad, that's us. Also, this is the season for forehead!kissing, clearly.
Next time: Van Gogh! Probably more forehead!porn. More omnious signs without a doubt.
So. FlashForward. It was a fairly good season finale, but as a series finale, it sure left a lot of stuff up in the air.
- Wedeck and Vreede are awesome and their teaming up to get Mark out? Awesome. Also the sort-of-realisation of Wedeck's flashforward of being on the toilet - just shooting a dude from it.
- Tracy lives but no proper explanation of her part in the grander picture, really. I just didn't connect with her and Aaron's story at all.
- Dylan and Charlie are sweet. They'll make good siblings.
- Mark, oh Mark. You really latch on to stuff obsessively. That you looked after Charlie and Olivia to the end was sweet, but really, Mark just doesn't know when to quit. (Also shown by his former alcoholism, really.) So now he might be dead, but maybe not. At least he went out gloriously, if it was his end. Boom.
- Nicole turns out to have misunderstood her flashforward, as I was begin to suspect she had. Dude actually saved her. Looks nice too.
- Bryce and Keiko are cute, but they will have some stuff to sort out. Getting to know each other and Keiko being wanted by INS now, for one.
- Demetri and Simon should team up more. Heh. And they both chose to have flashforwards as they didn't last time.
- Lloyd and Olivia. Aww. I am a sap and enjoyed that. The hopeful look on Lloyd's face as Olivia spoke just about did me. Hot snog, and the way their flashforward came true in essence worked for me. I am rather happy that it ended with them together. So I made a vid using my favourite ever song.
- The sequence of the second blackout was nicely done. It reminded me that I really like the concept. It's a shame the show has struggled with some of the execution, because so much potential... Alas.
The future for the characters, as written in my head:
- Demetri and Simon team up to get Janis out of the clutches of Mysterious Evil Cabal, but finds Janis got herself out. Then they bring it down and Janis and Demetri raise their baby boy as BFFs while Simon does community time for his various schemes.
- Lloyd and Olivia get married. Lloyd helps prevent future blackouts and does take his shirt off from time to time. Olivia approves.
- Wedeck and Vreede get even with Mysterious Evil Cabal the FBI way, snarking about it all the while.
- Tracy starts a training centre for blackout avoidance. Her father lurks around staring menacingly at anyone who looks like they might be Mysterious Evil Cabal members.
- Mark lives, but loses his memory and go on to make a living playing Shakespeare until Vogel stumbles onto one performance.
I also sadly subjected myself to some glimpses of reality show "The Hills" on YouTube and am now horrifed beyond belief what some people do to their bodies and their dignity. WTF, truly.
Best go to bed now.
