OOCness and Dalek Love
Sep. 18th, 2005 01:34 amAm writing a fic on request for
lynn_fox, who asked for, among other things, "a move of OOC" for Grissom (I get to justify it, of course). So I'm wondering, what would be OOC for Grissom to you?
A little preview of said fic:
What he remembered afterwards was the pattern of tiny hairs on the back of her hand, almost invisible in the flat light of the lecture hall, but rising against the touch of his skin, almost seeking him, as he shook her hand.
"Sara Sidle," she said.
"Gil Grissom," said he.
"Entomology is our friend," she repeated and her smile made the hairs on his hand stand. "Fascinating seminar, Doctor Grissom."
He echoed the smile. "Not creepy?"
"Just creeping," she replied and he could feel her mind behind her words, rising to met his too.
The mating habits of butterflies, moths, mosquitoes, even ants came explained in textbooks and colour illustrations for easy reference. Suddenly, he wished hers did too. "The Mating Habits of Sara Sidle", all the patterns of her captured within for him to read and understand.
Maybe it would be easier then.
Maybe it wasn't meant to.

Date: 2005-09-18 12:06 am (UTC)Yeah, that would be fairly OOC for Grissom - and you didn't even need to see the show to know that ;)
Mock not the Dalek or it will come knocking.

Date: 2005-09-18 12:18 am (UTC)I've been seeing more Daleks lately - when I was having to record BBC World News for us to air earlier this week, they had footage of the British cricket players on top of a double decker bus, and one of them was waving an inflatable Dalek. :)
The friend I was referring to also happens to have the last name of Grissom, which made things interesting a few months back when a former roommate of hers car was broken into. The officer had just gotten through telling them to not expect too much in this case, that "this isn't CSI", then asked for my friend's name. She had to go inside and get her driver's license so that the officer wouldn't think that she was trying to be a smart-aleck! :)
Hmm... Grissom could maybe have a secret passion for paperback romance novels? ;)

Date: 2005-09-18 12:39 am (UTC)Eureka! That's *perfect*! Fits with the whole mating habit theme.
Heh. I guess the Daleks helped the British cricket team exterminate the Aussies some.
And hee, that's a brilliant story.

What a snappy line!
/sarcasm.

For real OOCness, have him give someone a heartfelt bear-hug. IC!Grissom would have a heart attack.
(And Daleks are disturbingly cute...)

Date: 2005-09-18 05:32 am (UTC)And OOC!Grissom, to me, would be a Grissom that opened up to his team members on a regular basis, and easily (emphasis on "easily") revealed his feelings to Sara. OOC!Grissom might also have a sudden, unexplainable aversion to bugs.
