Indeed, just because Boz was human and succumbed as anyone might in his situation doesn't mean he was Teh Evil, oh crap-author! The orcs, trolls, Sauron and Saruman were the bad guys. But you probably too busy drooling over Monsieur Bloom to notice. DO try and work out why a person might do a thing and whether such an action was inevitable. Boz died a noble death, was a Good Man, but his flawed humanity means you feel he must be an incestuous, drunken rapist butcher with more evil inside him than Sauron in a really bad mood.
