I'm tired. Managed to get all the filming done for one of my TV stories, and got another lined up for tomorrow (It's the start of Sorry week, so I'm doing a bit on that). Have my religion presentation due Tuesday, but I'm more or less ready. Just need to write the 500 word summary of the thing. Then it's a 500 word summary of globalisation due beginning of June, a stupid 'evaluate your progress' for TV due June 9, an evaluation of my internship due whenever and one take-home exam... and then I shall be free! FREE! *throws confetti* And homebound, of course.

Speaking of home... Norwegian media has pounced upon the threat I mentioned last entry, and are now doing sections like 'The war on terror reaches Norway' (and silly graphics like you can see as the upper banner here), 'the man who threatens Norway'. Gee, overreacting much? Oh well. I suppose it was bound to happen. Given how quiet and rather dull Norway tends to be, a story like that won't be forgotten for a long while back home. I still wish I knew what the heck naming Norway was all about, though. Maybe al-Quaeda has a world map, and whenever they want to spice up their threats a bit it goes a bit like this:

Terrorist: Who shall we threaten today, O Magnificent Leader?
Leader: Throw a dart at the map, O Martyr. Allah shall guide your hand to the infidels.
Terrorist: (throws) It guided me to Norway, O Leader.
Leader: Nor-way? Is that not where ABBA came from?
Terrorist: No, that is Sweden, O Magnificence.
Leader: Sweden, Norway, who cares! They are all Infidels! They shall all feel the rage of Allah!
Terrorist: Does this mean I must burn my ABBA tapes?

*snerk* (No disrespect to genuine muslims intended *bows*)

In other news, Evilchild seems to have been kicked off ff.net for good. One of her friends keep e-mailing me, though *rolls eyes* To ignore her or not to ignore her... Hmmm. Guess we'll see. Must first survive this weekend. If I get both my stories done (they're not due for a week, but around that time, everyone else will be stressing), I will be very happy. Fingers crossed. Then I can pounce upon plagiarist's whiny friend.

And of course, this weekend is Eurosong weekend. Ah, the spectacular crappiness and cheesiness of it all... SBS is airing it, to my great joy. I think I'll even call and commend them. Eurosong is the annual 'Eurovision Song Contest', that has been going on for decades. Every country has a yearly contest to decide which uniquely created song shall present them in the Eurosong and then all the countries compete. The winner gets to arrange next year's Eurosong (thus getting much free publicity and advertisement. Eurosong is very watched Europe wide). Norway is competing, of course. We probably won't win (we've only won twice in all of Eurosong's history), but we'll see. The Russian T.a.T.u might win, which would be interesting. I don't think Russia has won before.

Some interesting news:
No one is likely to find tonnes of chemical weapons in Iraq, according to report
Victims of peace
The Iraqi viewpoint

(Yeah, I've been reading the Times of late. What of it?)

Of course, the new UN resolution gives the US and Britain control of the oil revenue for Iraq for a good while, which I rather think will not make the Arab world happy (even if it's all used for good). Nor is it likely to make the Iraqis happy. But we will see, I guess. It gives me some hope that the US has opened more for UN involvement, though I still think US and Britain should not be running Iraq. And not just because I opposed the war, but because I think it could increase the danger to the US - not diminish it. I have seen nothing so far that convinces me the US can do a good job at rebuilding Iraq either - but we will see. We will see.

*sniggers at e-mail* Someone writes me to write their Sue into OFUM as a teacher? Yeah, that'll happen...
