Thank you, weathergods, for finally deliving some snow. Now keep it here, yeah?
The Norwegians get into the season spirit
Best part of it? Couple gets caught having sex under the table of one such party, and neither the man nor the woman was charged, after the hotel managment chose to view the incident with a sense of humor. The couple apologized when they left and even promised to invite the police officers to the christening should there be any result of the impulsive liaison.
Snort. Ah, Norway. I do love you and all, but sometimes I can't help but be rather amused.
Ah well. 'Tis the season, and all. *points to shiny, self-made icon* That's Norwegian for Merry Christmas, if you didn't get it.
Speaking of season - the Christmas wishlist meme has been going about and I have quite a few on my flist. If you've posted a Christmas wish list, could you kindly leave a link to it in a comment to this entry, just so I'm sure I haven't missed any? I can't guarantee I'll do all, but I'm sure some of you have wished for things I might be able to grant. Cough up links, babes.
My Christmas Wishlist, if you missed it.
I have packages already waiting for me in the post office, so expect a major squee post very soon. I have strong suspicions about what awaits me and I'm already pleased.DALEKS COME TO MUMMY

Expect postcards. In your package. From me. And possibly a tin of stuff. Yes, tin. (Would you mind a shirt with "Hawaii" stamped across it?)

Have fun with your package!

*lol*
I really love it when someone shows their love for their country. Basically because us Italians are not v. patriotic/proud people.
I have strong suspicions about what awaits me and I'm already pleased. DALEKS COME TO MUMMY.
Uhm, sorry to disappoint you, but my present doesn't involve daleks at all. See, I bought it way before you got into Doctor Who...Anyway, it'll be on its way soon. (Am actually waiting for my parents to get to Nice and take all the cards/present back to Italy with them. Italian Post is way cheaper than French Post!:P)

Date: 2005-11-30 09:33 am (UTC)DALEKS! DAAAAALEKS! Undoubtedly, when I get the time to pick up the package of love, there will be pic-spamming. I intend to deck them in holiday cheer and stick them somewhere on my computer desk.
Dalek love. And you love, for sending them across the Atlantic.

Date: 2005-11-30 09:40 am (UTC)Norwegians are insanely patriotic, but mostly, people just find it cute because we're so small and fluffy. We'd probably be hideously obnoxious if we were big.
Oh,
No, I'm not obsessed. Shut up.I'm sure with all the other DW presents I'm sure to get, something else will be just as loved too. No worries. But you haven't linked to your Christmas wishlist, naughty one.
Re: screams curses against all that is HTML Mark IV
Date: 2005-11-30 09:43 am (UTC)No one shall dare touch it under threat of "Merry Exterminate! Exterminate!" They'll just be adorable with ribbons and tinsels. I think I'll be a digital Christmas card out of it. Hehehehe.

Good question...
Uhm, first off, I think it's because we're a fairly young country; I mean, Italy was united under the Savoy reign only in 1870...and its present borders were defined only after the IWW. Regional differences and antagonism is still very much alive ((there's even some sort of racial prejudice against Southern Italians), not to mention the fact that nowadays many people living in Northern Italy are still convinced that Italy should get split into two diffent countries: Northern and Southern Italy (which, IMO, is just bullshit, but still...)
And then there's the fact that we're very "esterofili" down here. Meaning we tend to think that everything coming from foreign countries (especially the Anglo-Saxon ones) is far better tha

Date: 2005-11-30 10:37 am (UTC)Last but not least, Fascism and Mussolini have tried to inculcate patriotism into Italian with force, so I think that, somehow, we're still on some kind of "rebound" phase.
Also, when I think that my country is filled with people who voted for such a great git like Berlusconi I really can't help thinking we haven't got much to be proud of
