Re: gay cowboys: I just went to see it last weekend with my Mom and her friends. Went mostly out of curiosity, but was very pleasantly surprised (I had thought that there was probably more hype than warranted, but such was not the case). "Brokeback Mountain" deserves it's accolades. And I see a Best Actor Oscar nomination for Heath Ledger (dude was awesome). For those who might not want to see it because they don't like westerns, I wouldn't let that stop you. Strictly speaking it's not really a western in the classic sense-- just a drama that happens to take place in Wyoming and Texas (1963-1980's). The movie audience for "Brokeback" here in southern New Mexico skewed noticably female :)
