Autumn and rain in Norway. Fun. But feels a bit fitting, since I was just writing autumn and rain for my Norway fic. Autumn is a very melancholy season in Norway, but often a sort of nice melancholy, you know what I mean? Like watching the rain and knowing it to be sad and feeling good about it? Err. Maybe not.

Gotta say, has rather made my brain start pondering what it might be like to do one, or have one done on own fic. Anyone else thinking about such things? *prods*

Shouldn't that be in dw_recs? Hum. I suppose it's not that odd to do things that benefit others and want people to see it and T&C does have a huge readership. (Perhaps one should rephrase the old falling tree saying into "If a charitable thing is done and no one is around to see it, is it still a charity?") Or that odd to want attention in fandom, for that matter. It's just at times when it seems to be done in great big neon letters my mind turns into a sink (I will award points to anyone who gets the reference). Course, I do recs now and then too and I don't think one need have any further motives to share something you liked and oh yes, sometimes you can't resist adding links to own fics and sometimes enthusiasm is just enthusiasm. But - oh blah, I don't know. My mind is a sink, what do I know, really? (Apart from drains.)

Anyway, dw_recs is a good place for rec lists, if any of you didn't know of its existence.

In that vein, I shall now do my fics recs of the day and you can all question my motives.

Parts (Doctor Who)
She has been looking. And of course she likes what she sees. She's not blind. It's intoxicating and while Cassandra had blathered about hormones, as if they were a curse, Rose enjoys the giddy sensations that can bubble forth with just a glance at a right angle, a glimpse at the corner of her eye. Entertaining a private notion locked away securely in her mind is perfectly fine.
Of course, having her private notions broadcast over the mass network of giant screens at a bar at the Joxpreliin Platform has pretty much been one of her most embarrassing days ever.

Quarterback (CSI)
Every year for ten of them, Nick had bought her a birthday present he'd felt was appropriate for her age. At eight, it'd been a Barbie. Thirteen, a candle set and some makeup suggested by a reluctant Sara. Her seventeenth, a bronze leather-bound journal. And every year for ten, Lindsay had said thank you by wrapping her growing frame around his, an annual constant for both in the hurricane she considered a childhood and the circus he considered a career.

And finally - ever had one of those moments when you have no idea why someone's friended you? Not necessarily in a "who-the-heck-this-person" way, but also in "I-know-this-person-but-why-wouldhe/she-have-any-interest-in-what-I-babble-about?" I have those now and then. I think I probably wandered over here from YTDAW, I tend to take a look at members' ljs if they seem like an amusing person. You're snarky, that's good (unless it's drected at me, of course), and as a general rule of thumb, if someone intimidates the crap out of me, they're probably add-worthy.

I like reading what you have to say about various topics, you're friendly and rational and have a fun and interactive journal, you have a cute kitty, and you're trustworthy with friends locks and not associated with groups or ideas I refuse to have my name connected with in any way (like Nazi worship groups), at least as far as I can tell.

I actually have all of the second season on my computer, but my boyfriend is making me ration it so the wait for season three isn't as long. We're allowed one episode a month, and he's even drawn up a timetable with the exact dates. Geek relationships, they're... unique.

Is it the 2nd of September yet? I've been on a cliff hanger for nearly a month!
