Cripes. First Steve Irwin gets killed by a stingray while doing a bit for TV, now Top Gear's Richard Hammond is seriously injured in a crash while recording for the show.

First ACK NO. I love Top Gear and I don't even much care about cars and now I feel all sad. Secondly, am I the only one wondering if we're seeing the start of a trend here? 'Obejcts of TV shows strike back'? What's next?

Poor family, though. I hope he recovers.

In other extremely non-important news, I watched House last night and think I do like. Not instant love, but entertaining enough that I'll keep watching. And not ship anyone. Nope.

Blah blah work.

Loving Top Gear might be a bit more useful, but it's still pretty gutting news. Heard about it last night and it's actually been playing on my mind since, I met him once briefly and he was such a nice guy, all the Top Gear guys seemed to be, despite what TV sometimes says.

House is cool, man. Huhgh Laurie, yum. Although I genuinely dont ship anyone, bit like how the Tenth Doctor is turning out for me. Very odd phenomenon, not shipping, I'm trying to work out if it means I've grown up, characters just dont have that romantic chemistry, or it's some sort of internal backlash to the batshit insaneness of fandom.

Noooo idea who the guy is, but that's just horrible.

Yay for watching House and liking it!

BLAH WORK. I swear getting up at 6 in the morning is zapping my brain.

Whether or not they're nice, they have at least brought amusement for me, so I feel sad regardless.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's a backlash - I know I've decided not to ship anything House-related due to the batshitness of that fandom. And sometimes, your brain just doesn't go in that direction, I think. Other times it does.

Presenter for very popular TV show in the UK. They do mad things with cars. Once, they went to Norway and had winter Olympics with cars. This included car on ice against a speed skater, car ski jumping, car ice hockey, car versus bob sleigh... Etc. I LOVED.

Indeed. Now I can know what y'all are nattering on about.

I'm waiting for fans to start cutting the exhausts off of jet-powered cars, there's gotta be some loony fans a-la the stingray debacle drifting around England somewhere too.

I'm actually enjoying fandom more without the shipping. I went all George/Izzie on Grey's Anatomy, still not sure why, and now the show just doesnt feel the same to watch. So I'm mentally brainwashing myself into thinking of them as good friends, and I've realised how much I hate all the couples on it other than those attached to Bailey and the Chief. That and I totally prefer writing gen fic. Not that I do a lot of it.

Oh! Makes more sense now, at least. Sounds awesome and more horrifying now. It's like "When Objects Attack", just like you said.

If I made documentaries, I'd be very nervy about now.

And a friend of mine is burning me S1 of House in exchange for S2 of Doctor Who. I've seen a few episodes, but now I might be able to follow things a bit better. But I think I shall keep away from shipping in that fandom, because it's crazy. *looks over at f_w*

England's full of loonies. Charming and funny loonies sometimes, but loonies. I'm sure we'll see some sort of related insanity to this.

I like Burke and Cristina on Grey's Anatomy, but I'm not particulary invested in any of the shipping. Bailey is love, though. It does make for a more relaxed sort of viewing at times, I guess.

Funny, after CSI fandom, my mind just can't seem to manage to do gen writing very well. I think I've been ruined.

Where is the good gen GA fics, then?

Yes, exactly. It's a bit like Grissom getting killed by a bug or some such.

Documentary makers, beware...

Yeah, I know. I'm so not getting into that fandom. I get enough madness from CSI. Not to mention there seems to be quite a lot of crossing going on in those fandoms. I don't need batshit twice over.

I'm sure quite a few people are feeling unnerved, really.

I wish I knew. I've pretty much given up on Grey's, aside from some G/I writers who write the other stuff well too, as there's only so much of the mooning over McDreamy/McSteamy/McVet I can take.
Personally, I liked the bomb guy who got blown to bits. He was hot.

And I'd totally forgotten about Burke and Cristina! Now I feel guilty. They're swell. Now I have the urge to watch GA today, rather than reading my Trusts and Equity books. Drat.

I used to watch House with my Mum. Which was fun, because she kept picking holes in all the medication stuff, and the whole set up of things (She's Head of Pharmacy at the regional hospital). She also said that House was just how all the doctors she knew wished they could act around patients...

House fandom is completely mental, really. It's forever being wanked nowadays. Which is why I am so staying away from it.

He's apparently improving, but still not good. *frets*

The shipping in that fandom is crazy... and then there are the capslockers.

(I ship House/everyone, though not all at the same time. Just at odd moments.)

Well, there would've been cameras about for the race Brockie died in, though I dunno if it would have been televised anywhere. Small WA bush-basher race, really.

And just to add to the statistics, look what else happened last night. Australian celebrities are not having much luck, lately.

I have caught the odd snippet of House, and I like it well enough. Plotwise, I like it, but I have yet to get used to Hugh's accent. I miss George! Why must House be a yank?

Yay for watching House. I love it, and no, I don't ship anyone in that fandom mainly because it's so batshit nuts. But it will grow on you, yessss... I never thought I'd watch it and here I am worrying that going to this concert would make me miss the s3 premier (not sure why - they're three weeks apart!)

You've just got to love how much house is a total bastard. :)

If you've ever seen the bloopers, it amazes me that he stays in accent the entire time, even when he's flubbing a line. Though I do miss that Oxfordshire accent though.

Given the crash, the 'good' might take a while. But fingers crossed.

Oooh, I saw those featured on f_w. They have icons that makes your brain tick, I swear. Are they always nuts?

Ouch! Man, bad times all around for the famous, huh? When it rains, it pours.

I know, it is sad! The accent doesn't bother me, but I just think how much more glorious it would be in a British accent. Mmm. Droolage.

But still fun.

I don't fancy McDreamy. You may all now gasp in horror. Thus I don't moon over him.

I'M NOT UP TO THE BOMB GUY YET. ARGH.

Aww, you like them too. Yay. They're so gloriously disfunctional. And now you'd made me want to watcg GA as well, dammit. I wish I had season two on DVD. Woe.

Too true, too true.

And also, isn't it just typical that now I am finally not at work... you are?

How's things? I wrote a drabble the other day--sadly it was not the fic I owe you, but the muse produced somethng, and that's a step in the right direction. ;)

Yeah - I'm amazed it gets wanked so much and CSI fandom doesn't, really. CSI fandom is easily as wanky.

Ah well.

Heh, I just knew as I watched it that there would be lots of mistakes about and I know nada of medicine.

Will take me a while to get to season three :P We'll see if I'm as addicted then.

Yes indeed. But most importantly, a total bastard *with style*. Anyone can be an asshole, after all.

Sadly so. You'll probably be in bed by the time I get home. But I should be off somewhat early tomorrow, so hopefully we can catch up.

Writing is good. But want my fic! Whine whine Writing lots is better. *nods sagely* What did you write?

Very true. Total bastard with style :) That describes House perfectly.
I'll put money on it by the end of S1 you'll probably want to strangle Cameron though. I won't say more because I don't want to ruin it for you but you'll hate the new guy. Total bastard WITHOUT style.

And I do not have to work Saturday morning, so hopefully we will indeed. ;)

I wrote Ten/Sarah Jane/Rose for the drabble tag at [livejournal.com profile] who_otp. It's hardly literature, but it prodded the muse a tad.
