So The Watcher posts a review of a CSI episode (spoilers if you're behind the US showings) and the comments turn into shipper arguments. Again. But this time with some spice.
i was at the play in providence and was lucky enough to have a private ten minute meeting with william in the offices (with the 3 office people sitting in the background eotkinh) the subject turned to g.....sr and mr petersen said and i quote "jorja and i are talking about ways to END IT." to which i replied "i don't care HOW you end it just end it FAST!" i think he was suprised at my reaction.
are the actors and writiers kept in an ivory tower? 12 million view drop is quite alot. granted 12 million are still watching. but the drop from 20-30 million a week as in previous season should be sending up smoke to someone !
i always heard the William was an honest gentleman. he also told me that his wife hated the beard and it was going the minute he got off stage the last night of the play. sadly i am told it is still there. i hate to think that he lied to me outright about both things.. i would be very disappointed in him. so far he is batting 2 for 2. i am hoping that TP_B are telling him what to say in interviews and telling him how he can dress and be photographed in (the TV GUIDE cover is an example...Gil would NEVER dress that sloppy) i will continue to follow his career and attend his plays. but not on CSI. i can't stomach the poor ethics and the turn around that they are doing to Gil Grissom, who was once an honorable man. now he's the one who should be fired.
the show would best have ended with the season ender where gil said "i want my guys back." yeah gil so do i.
Of course, this gets taken with a grain of salt elsewhere, and the commentator fires back in her own LJ.
Err. Yeah. There are times people just get a liiiiiitle too invested in fandom stuff and oh so clearly transfers their own issues into it. And if this continues, I need new CSI wank icons for my posts.
Interview meme, as asked by
dawning_star.
1) Nine or Ten: Who is a better Doctor?
Oi. I adore them both in their different ways, but I think I adore Ten just a tad more after seeing more of the older episodes. He feels more Doctorish in some ways.
2) Has CSI jumped the shark?
I don't think it has had a defining jumping moment, no. It has declined a bit in quality over the years, but it still manages all right.
3) Is the wank greater this year or too early to tell?
Too early to tell yet. I think the reactions to this year's finale will be defining. Last year really was totally unleashed batshit, so it will be hard to top. But never underestimate a fandom's ability to make wank, I say.
4) Does the wankshelter need restocking?
Always.
5) If you could write and direct an episode from any of your favorite shows, what would happen?
Doctor Who - Ten would have mad adventures with a moose? :P Nah, I think maybe I would use the plot of Watson's Ghost and do something with that.
CSI - Catherine and Warrick would shag. Yes. Sara would be happy, Grissom hat-less. Then there would be crime-solving involving moose.
Grey's Anatomy - A Day in the Life of Bailey. With complicated moose surgery.
In other notes:
- So I am starting a new job Tuesday. Will be interesting. Is actually in the pharmacy business, of all things. There's another contender for things I never expected to work in. But I am casually excited.
- Nostalgia factor I: I've started watching reruns of "Helene et les garçons", this French teenage soap I watched when I was a teenager. Oh man. Watching is part embarassment and part feeling oh so old. Times do a-change.
- Nostalgia factor II: Melrose Place! Days of Our Lives! I totally forgot the strange addictiveness of soaps. Just need Sunset Beach in reruns now, and I will have all my past soapy addictions back. Of course, I've gained quite a few years of cynicism since then, but ah well. I'm still a romantic, I'm just less of a fairytale one, me thinks.
- World of Warcraft: Lvl 66, baby. Four more and I will actually be all lvled out. Hum. At least until Blizzard makes another expansion, which will undoubtedly take a while.
- Does the irony of Putin refering to the US use of force as 'very dangerous' strike anyone else? Because Putin is ever-so-restrained in his approach to Chechnya, oh yes. Though he also has a point - US use of force has not and is not always a thing of good.
- My desire to write fanfic seems to have taken a holiday, and I'm not sure how to lure it back. Hmmm.
Finally, icon meme for the heck of it.
Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, what significance does it have.

Heh, this is of course a reference to the old "Daleks can't get up the stairs" Doctor Who joke. I think I first saw it in use over at fandom_wank, actually. The icon has survived many icon purges, which is a testament to my love of Daleks.

Doctor Who strikes again. I've yet to find a better "oh shit" icon and the expressions are just made of win.

The famous promo pic that made much of Doctor Who fandom lust. Including me, who deemed David Tennant shaggable.
dragonlp86 made me an awesome icon with it, and as I still stand by the statement, the icon stays.

Tennant/Piper hug from a Doctor Who confidential, I seem to recall. Made this icon myself as I thought they were being very cute. Not a great icon maker, but this one is passable.

Don't have to read my LJ long to discover my deep affection for BBC. I grew up with quite a lot of BBC programs, watch their news more than others and love many of their documenatries and shows. In addition, I love their various websites, particulary the news one. All this does make me a BBC fangirl. If I could have babies with the BBC, I so would.

I very shallowly love Rose's hair in this scene. And nice shot of the TARDIS in the background. It's my Doctor/Rose/TARDIS OT3 icon, so there.

Obligatory hand!porn icon. One of the icons
fondued_jicama has made just for me, because I am weird and wanted icons for only me. Also the moment before 'doom' happened to the ship, of course.

Another one
fondued_jicama made for me. Blackpool screencap. I can't be the only one who have a dirty mind, surely?

Grey's Anatomy, Burke and Cristina. I like them. Not quite sure why, but I do. I guess that one is my official Ship Declaration Icon for those two.

Official "grrr" icon for "grrr" occasions. And there are a few of them, sadly.

Rome. Rome has a lot of quotes for the win, but that one is gold. Definitely how we judge history.

Days of Our Lives, newest icon. Shut up, I was feeling nostalgic.

I agree, he is more Doctorish, but I think that I like Nine better. Ten and Rose were kinda on the verge of canon, but there was this vibe of comfort and affection from Nine that just drew me towards him. Still adore Ten, but I just wish Rose declared her feelings to a different doctor. :)

Date: 2007-02-11 06:28 am (UTC)The moose filled episodes of CSI & Greys would be so made of win. :D There is never enough Moose on Moose crime portrayed on TV.
I wish I had inspiration for your muse. Perhaps taking one of those drabble request thingies. I actually got a lot of writing done the day I posted a request in my journal.
And I'm stealing the icon meme. Am in the mood for randomness rather than reality. :)
PS: You should be on the lookout for mail from Texas. Go February Birthday Girls! :)

Oh man indeed. This just reminded me that there was French soap I was totally into when I was in middle school. Premiers Baisers. I don't think I could stand watching that stuff again. The cringe-worthy factor would be too high.

You're a Rome addict as well? My darling, we have so much to talk about now!
