Dude, I remember when there were only about a dozen schools on there.

I'm not all an addict as some of my friends, I graduated just as it really really took off, but it's funny how addicted ppl are. It's awesome for pics and party invites though.

Added ya, just don't put "internet" on the "how we met bit" I try to keep it a bit on the dl, lol. ;)

Well, it started as ony for students at a few schools. Unlike myspace the membership was restricted, and it was more student oriented. all profiles are private, and you can put more personal contact info. Everyone used it to message their friends randomly after a night out, etc. Especially in the dorms. You can identify the hall, and floor you're on hella easily. Some people add everyone they meet (my cousins got like 700-900+ friends at their schools alone)

My favorite thing is the photo album and the way that you can tag every person in a pic and link back to their profile. Most of the time, if you identify a person in one pic, it'll automatically link back to that person's picture page too. Mine isn't like that since I turned the link back off since I'm also on my company's network and I look kinda drunk in a few, or they're pics from mexico, etc. If you click on the photo album on my page, everyone in that one is tagged.

Yes, Facebook started out as an indexing device for the Ivy Leagues. Then it spread to the lesser, state schools, opened its doors to the general public and is rapidly aspiring to be the next, improved MySpace.

It really has exploded over here recently. Prepare to be assimilated... facebook will steal your soul...and lots of your time. My classmates dragged me onto it kicking and screaming...it owns me now :(
