In a meeting of minds, longtimegone and I have come to the conclusion we ship PPP - Personal Preference Pairing. No thinking the ship is better or more Canon or what everyone else should ship. It's quite simply the pairings we like.

Meanwhile, I'd really love some PPP icons of my favourite pairings, so is there a bribable member on my flist?

I tried to do icons last night but Photoshop kept freezing. *kicks it* I have a holiday tomorrow and a house to clean, so I'm sure I'll try to procrastinate by attempting to bend PS to my will.

The Anywhaer But Cardiff ficathon sounds interesting. I might post a suggestion for a prompt, I have weird ideas twirling in my head already. But that would mean infringing my "strictly lurking only" code of behaviour in comms. I'm not sure I want to set a precedent.

Everything's really shiny for me at the moment. I finished my exams twelve days earlier than originally planned. Woot!

Now I can go to beach and be lazy and read books without feeling guilty.

Honestly, in a fandom with a canon like this I'd have thought that everyone would just go "Okay, that sucked [whatever the "that" that people hated might have been], time for the AUs!" but the wailing, the gnashing of teeth, the insistence that whatever RTD or whoever else says is now law. Sheesh. Personal preference, people, the source material makes it so damned easy!

Which I thought was the whole point of fanfic and 'shipping all along, but apparently I've been sadly out of touch.

I've found that it's so much more about being reactionary and proving one's self right than anything else.

Though I did find, after The Sound of Drums, there was this really productive spate of Doctor/Master (shippy or not) stuff that came out and was relatively "agenda-less" in that people just geniunely were working to lay it all out in their minds. Which was nice and bound to end soon.
