misscam: (Batshit! Crazy!)
[personal profile] misscam
Okay, what the hell is this? It's like some combination epic grudge (which may or may not be justified) and epic batshit. And people on my flist are involved and I'm just boggling. What what WHAT.

This is nuttier than the chick who claimed to 'know' George was in love with Marg and decided to tell the truth on her website. (Also, she happened to ship the two characters those actors played. But that had nothing to do with it, of course.)

I realise getting emotionally involved in fandom makes you feel a claim on it (feel that way myself now and then), but sometimes that just goes far and beyond and into the batshit.

HAI. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE CREATOR(S) THINK, HOW THE ACTORS FEEL OR HAVE A SPECIAL 'BOND' NO MATTER HOW MUCH LOVE YOU FEEL FOR WHAT YOU FAN. KTHXB.

Urgh. Meanwhile, it's winter holiday in Norway, which means a lot of people are off work, which means those who didn't take a holiday have more to cover. Fun stressed times all around - but I have Friday off and look forward to it like a dog to a bone.

And also it's my birthday on Thursday 21st. Hoo hum. I have bought myself Inspector Lynley Mysteries as a gift to self, but there are of course a million other silly things I'd want.

- Another tattoo, my fourth.
- Another pair of Converse.
- Inspector Lynley fic.
- Doctor Who fic of several kinds - Doctor/Rose that includes the sick wolf 'dårlig ulv stranden' really means, Doctor/Martha with humerous uses of a stetoscope or something else that tickles my flavour.
- Fox News to go black the whole day.
- A Scotsman.
- Two hours more to a day - not working ones.
- Icons, graphics and other things I suck at making.
- Books. Mmm. Books.
- Cat snuggles.
- Astral plane harem.
- Phoenix mount and legendary bow for my World of Warcraft hunter.
- Lottory win.
- Spring.

I need to start planning my summer holidays. Hmm. [livejournal.com profile] falena84 might come to vist, but I'm rather keen on going a bit abroad too. If I poked by the UK, would anyone there be interested in meeting? (Half tempted to visit the US again too, but argh, customs and current political climate.)

Your link isn't working. And the fics sound interesting...especially what the what 'dårlig ulv stranden' means one.

Ick, one e too many there - works now.

Heh, well, the fact that the show claims 'Bad Wolf Bay' is 'dårling ulv stranden' in Norwegian is a constant niggle to my Norwegian pendantic self - so I'd love to see a fic 'correct' it in an amusing way. And still have ship, because I am sad like that.

*raises hand* I think, though the details of the fandom stuff are still quite mind-bogglingly weird and fun to discuss, the main thrust of it is that the person involved has treated successive friends in a horrible way. All the Heroes bits are like... frosting?

...if anyone knows what I'm trying to explain and whether I've succeeded I'd be much obliged to be informed >_> And if it was a hypothetical question, sorry, I'll close the door behind me. :P

You'd be welcome to visit Cambridge/Towcester... Depending on dates, obviously.

If you do consider traveling abroad to the States... I'd be happy to put you up... I know I've just got a dinky one-bedroom apartment, but I won't kill you with my cooking. And my computer is IDEAL for playing WoW... *tempts*

Addittionally (since I'm not awesome enough to have a paid account and thus can't edit), regarding that Astral Plane Harem, I've heard from my Lord Anubis that He's planning His monthly orgy for the 21st. Close enough?

Hey, happy birthday for the 21st. I'm 21 tomorrow. Re: a Scotsman, have you read Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series? Time travel, romance, and Scotsmen up the wazoo.

OH yes, I'll second that. If you're not up for time travel, and just want literary slash-fic, the Lord John Gray series is quite good as well.

Oh, I've been. It's just quite a few years ago now, and I'm feeling an urge to revisit.

Yeah, I could tell there wasa huge chunk of backstory going on and what not. But not being involved in Heroes fandom, all that have went me by. It means reading the wank leaves one with much boggling.

Of course, the batshit is also strong. Hoo yeah. And the one post I saw of her entry calling for some sort of mass attack on a person - that's just not cool, regardless of how wronged she felt. It's especially uncool with proof of wrongdoing.

Last time I went to the States I actually lost weight because I didn't much like the food. But hey, that's probably just good for me.

My new computer is also ideal for WoW - that's why I bought it. Muhehehe.

And never heard of this series at all - hmm, might be worth a keep, if only for Scotsmen up the wazoo.

Oh, I'd have to sort out when to take time off from work, how it would fit with the cat looked after, who I'd go with... Lots and lots of details - and that's still an 'if' I go, sadly. Life has its obstacles to holidays.

But we shall see.

*slaps self* Have I never recommended it? BAAAD friend I am. I have them all--it's another one of those series where every book is gloriously fatter than the last one. (Funny story--the reason I picked it up in the first place? Third book is titled "Voyager" and at the time I was still watching and fangirling that series. Hehe.)

Also, 'tisn't called "Outlander" in Australia, cos the word has different cultural connotations here, so is called "Cross Stitch" which is sadly a bit of a lame title. But very good book. And you have a birthday coming up...

I've been on her flist for about three months now. Mainly for the porn (I wasn't terribly impressed) but I kept her on cause she seemed nice enough.

To start with, I bought the hypothetical story that she was dating an actor. It seemed plausible enough (I not being on her super filter of course). Then the whole fandom_secrets drama happened and now all the details have come out and I'm just astounded by the crazy involved.

One part of me sees the way she has treated her friends and is like "Meh, whatever" and yet another part of me feels very sorry for her. Whether she is saying this stuff for attention - or because she genuinely believes it to be true, she needs help of some sort. The fact that her friends and (possibly) her family are enabling her makes it worse. As someone pointed out in Fandom Wank, how could anyone hear that kind of story and take it seriously? It just boggles the mind that it managed to get this far and that people are still encouraging her.

WTF.

Im going to be poking around all over Europe for a few weeks in May. Well, not all over. WE have limited funds and limited times, but if you make it out and stop by Amsterdam, Paris, London, or Dublin, we would like to hang out.
Hmm... Your birthday is a month before mine. I might be getting my first tattoo for my bday

Oh yeah...I saw that one and damn near died laughing at the stupid involved!

And interesting...please don't yell at me for what I am about to say here...it has been niggling at me too. A mate of mine from school was from Umeå Sweden and I remember once asking about oceanographic terms...and if memory serves, it was something like 'bukten' for bay.

Now I know, Swedish and Norwegian are two different entities but she did say that the languages are similar and there are quite a few common words between the two...maybe she was having me on, I dunno.

So anyhoo...yes I would be interested in seeing this corrected!

Cam wants - A Scotsman.

Happy early birthday! (Yesterday was my birthday; yay for February girls ;) )

Okay. Excuse non-accurate quotes; I don't have the script in front of me.

~~~~
"Dårlig ulv stranden."
"Dalek?"
"No, Dårlig. It's Norwegian. Means Bad Wolf Bay."
"That's sick."
"Sick? Doctor, I know you died cause of Bad Wolf, but 's not that bad, surely? I mean, it did end the Time -"
"Sick. Sick as in not bad, but as in sick. As in throwing up. Sick Wolf Bay. Better watch where you're walking."
"Eww. How long did you say you have?"
"Two minutes. Well... one minute and twenty-four seconds now."
"Mmm. Do you mind if we cut this short? Not really that fond of vomit. Bad enough that I'll be cleaning it up on a daily basis in six months' time, without treadin' in it here."
"What?"
"Sorry, Doctor! Got to go!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Far from one of my better efforts, but... well, it's the thought that counts, right?
