NSB did it again - train service down for a whole hour during rush hour and then 15 minutes delayed this morning. Fuuun. In addition, we had another round of heavy rain. Hmpf. But falena84 is coming here in a week, so maybe the weathergods are preparing for it their favourite way.

Speaking of Norway and tourism, I present to you some 'interesting' questions asked by tourists in Norway and jotted down for rememberance by various tourist offices around my country.

"When is the hunting season for trolls?"
(Happy hunter)

"Is it true Norwegian women are pregnant for twelve months so the children can suffer the cold better when born?"
(American tourist in Geiranger - the answer being NO.)

"Do Vikings live on reservations now?"
(Eager Viking seeker)

"Where is the midnight sun during the day?"
(Person in dire need of astronomy classes)

"*Why* is it so far?"
(Tourist in Trondheim was a bit upset the Geiranger-fjord wasn't near Trondheim. Apparently, we don't place our fjords very considerately towards tourists)

"Do you have the same problems with Vikings in Norway as we have with the blacks?"
(American on the failboat)

"Are the sculptures made from real human bones?"
(Tourist asks about Vigelandsparken, where all sculptures are very evidently made from bronze or rock)

Oh, tourists.

In other notes:

- Oh my, CSI trailer for new season. With implied sex. Fandom to go mental again, y/y?

- Anyone know if shiny BSG trailer of WANT might be shown on DragonCon also and therefore might finally be shared with the rest of us eager fans? I WANT. (That trailer can feel free to include implied sex also. Oh yes.)

- My guild killed Lady Vashj this week. FINALLY. We wiped on her at 8% and 2% and I was about ready to go mental in frustration and then it happened. BWHAHAHA. Now we have Kael and Archimonde to go.

- time_and_chips is having a Month of Love thing.

- Interesting article on the trade of gold farming for games - World of Warcraft is perhaps most known for its gold farmers.

- Stargate: Atlantis is cancelled. Oh dear. I didn't watch it, but I know friends did, so can I offer you a drink to drown your woes?

- Top misheard lyrics. Ehehehe.

Adama/Roslin Month of Love (comfort): She wants his kiss to be angry - anger she knows how stand firm against, anger she can soothe - but it's soft and loving and a caress, not a challenge.

A TARDIS Carol, Doctor/everyone: Sometimes, legends are legends, truth obscured by time. Sometimes, they're stories to explain the un-understood, truth obscured by narrative.

Sometimes, they're neither.

Ghosts don't visit. The living visit them.

Some sort of hopeful fic, Adama/Roslin: "We're going to survive, aren't we?" she asks, and maybe she's asking about the two of them, and maybe it's the whole of humanity, and probably it's both.

"Yes," he says, his voice warm and his breath too as he leans down. "Now we will."

Thing I don't know what is yet: "I loved her too much. If I'd loved her less, I would have saved her. I would have done everything to keep her with me. But I loved her too much. I did what she asked."

"You selfish git. It's all about your love for them. What about their love for you?"

Interesting trailer. Is that Grissom saying 'omg'? I don't think he would because he doesn't really believe anymore. I could be wrong, but I'm not sure his character utters the phrase. Is that correct?

Well, I'm an atheist and I still sometimes say 'oh my God'. Same as when I curse in Norwegian, I use 'faen' which literally means the fevil - but I don't believe in him. Despite the religious ties, I think these sort of phrases become absorbed into more general use and meaning.

That said, I got bad sound at work so I'll have to listen when I get home to hear what he says.

Our beaches get invaded every summer and I've had more contact with people's ignorance and rudeness than I ever wanted to believe was possible.

I liked Catherine too, though I preferred her flirting with Warrick. But wasn't all that happy with the writing in later seasons.

Hate to say it, but maybe it's good BSG is only four seasons - once you get far beyond that, a lot of my favourites just seem to slump. Woe.

Yeah I loved with the Catherine/Warrick flirting, that was great, but yeah the latter seasons her character has been all over the place, though you could say that about most of them really.

That's true. Promos could be misleading. I guess I'm a bit peeved that all Carol Mendelsohn/Naren Shankar/David Rambo talk about these days is her and now there's this promo clip. :\ And I have to admit that I'm a little (alright, more than a little) annoyed that it's always the GSR fans that get what they want. I really could use a good talk between Catherine and Grissom, you know. If he has any loose ends that need to get tied up before he leaves, the situation between him and Cath is definitely one of them.

This is why I don't listen to music anymore. I know that's such an odd thing to hear about someone. I haven't leisurely listened to music in almost two years because while I can physically hear the sounds, they make very little sense to me.
