It's already made fandom_wank and hoo boy. You can check out the first interview with the actor to play the Eleventh Doctor here. (He does seem rather excited, which counts in his favour. Not sold on the haircut, though.)

Me, I will wait and see. I've had misgivings about things that turned out to be brilliant in the past and been excited for things that turned out to be shite, so will try very hard not to form preconcieved ideas. So, wait and see. AND LAUGH AT THE WANK.

I've actually seen him in something else and I'm, I'm rather hopeful actually - at least of his acting abilities (and okay, I feel slightly guilty for being excited for the possibilities of the new Doctor *grins*).

My mum texted me with the actor's name, prompting me to Google him (I could find surprisingly little about the casting, actually), and my main reactions were "lawlz, his chin" and "does he look a little like Edward Cullen?"

I'm sure half the internet will declare that no-one could ever be as good as David Tennant, but I'm sure I remember that happening for Ecclescakes as well, and it probably happened for the other Doctors, so yanno.

I'm just going to blatantly copy your "reserve judgement and lol@wank" stance. :D

ETA: ...actually, I'm watching the interview right now, and my judgement is less reserved than it is "D'AWWWW ♥". >_>

He'll never be as good as Tennant in my eyes, but that's probably because I find this new bloke pretty much drop-dead unattractive :\. If he was hot, I'm pretty sure my opinion would be different, and yes, I am that shallow.

Bwahaha. Yeah, I admit a certain correlation between my thinking he looked like a berk in the fugly IMDB photos, and my rising opinion of him when he's being adorzable in the youtube interview. But then, I'm a Zachary Quinto fangirl, so I have a decidedly odd definition of what's adorzable.

I like all the Doctors I've seen, though. I am an indiscriminate Doctorslut. :)

I actually haven't seen that many doctors -- only like half a minute of Ecclecakes and a marathon of Teninch. But Tennant's dorky, overexpressive Ten will always be my favey, I think.

My theory is that the actor's haircut won't be the Doctor's haircut -- too close to Tennants. (Same with Tennant's real accent not being the Doctor's accent. Alas.)

Generally I'm just like "my favourite Doctor is the one I'm watching right now", which possibly makes me a terrible fan. I do have a great love for Ten, though. Ten and his pinstripes and his specs and his oral fixation. :3

I remember getting terribly upset about Ecclestone leaving and then finding that yes, I could live with Tennant. So I'm applying that philosophy to the new guy as well. To be honest, I'm more interested in what Stephen Moffatt is going to do with the show.

I loved Tennant as Ten and he'll probably always be My Doctor, but I think I'm probably going to love this guy too just from the interview. I mean he's so cute! He's all excited and flustered with a non-stop smile and I love the hair that looks like he styled it after an Emo!wolf. I'm rather excited about Eleven now.

I'm already spoiled, and I think that The Doctor will never again be as hott as David Tennant. But all the same, with all the drama Doctor!Tennant has been through lately, it almost takes a new actor to get the happiness and the excitement back in the Doctor-character.

But I'm looking forward to at least some more time with David Tennant as The Doctor. ^_^
