As requested. Most of these became ficlets. Oops. Also, a couple of more coming and one of them turned into a fic I have to run by beta.
Um, yeah. I'm terrible at containing myself.
This batch's prompts:
crackpig: nu!Trek + Tribbles
seriderfalcon: BSG, A/R, notes
theyellow_daisy: Doctor Who, Ten/Rose: An apple a day keeps the doctor away
sodzilla: World of Warcraft. Something Thrall would like to tell Jaina, but never will. (Bonus points if it's NOT "I love you".)
lotus79: BSG, Kara/Lee, resignation

The Trouble with Tribble Rumors, pg, nu!STar Trek. References to the movie. As requested by
crackpig: nu!Trek + Tribbles.
Some say the Klingons must have planted them, an act of sabotage so vile it could only be done by a sworn enemy of the Federation. Some say Captain Kirk was seduced by one and brought it with to meet the family. Some say it came from a freak transporter accident, the sort Scotty only admits too under the effect of a generous amount of alcohol. (And then requires an equal generous amount to forget for everyone else.) Some say Commander Spock brought it as an attempt to understand the human logic of 'fluffy' (and if he would have other uses for it with Lieutenant Uhura, no one wants to know except Kirk). Some say it's a freak medical mutation but not in earshot of McCoy, since he doesn't hold for nonsense but does hold for punative biology classes. Some say Admiral Pike left it to test the new command crew to the full extent of their capabilities. Some say Chekov must have attracted it with his accent; after all there must be some things in the Universe to find that attractive. Some say Sulu broke warp limits and this must be some sort of universal payback.
Some doesn't care how it came, just how it will leave.
Some say; the only thing they all know and agree on is that one day they had a tribble.
The next week they had an Enterprise full.

Notes From a Meeting, pg-13, BSG. Unspecified time. As requested by
seriderfalcon: A/R, notes.
"I think the Quorum are trying to bore me out of office," Laura says, curling her feet under her on the couch and leaning her head back. Bill just watches, finding the ease at which she makes her comfortable in his quarters something worth watching even after seeing it so many times previously.
"Long meeting?" he asks lightly and she grimaces.
"Has it ever occured to you that the longer a meeting is, the less of importance it actually contains?"
"Yes," he admits, thinking of too many meetings he have attended.
"I've even forgotten what most of the topics were," she admits, sounding a little guilty.
"Consult your notes," he suggests and she gazes over to her scrippled notepad with a rather unreadable expression.
"I could consult my notes from the meeting," she acknowledges. "But I'm not sure the Quorum would care for them."
He holds her gaze for a few seconds, then picks up her pad and begins reading. It starts with something on a dispute between two Quorum members on a line of the anthem and he's about to remark they seem fine enough when his eyes fall on his own name.
It's very hard to keep a straight face when he also sees the words 'desk' and 'preferably with tongue', as well as a description he has to feel rather flattered at.
"I'm not sure either of our backs would agree with that suggestion," he says calmly and she laughs. "These are your notes from the Quorum meeting?"
"Those are my notes," she says, smiling just a little wickedly. "I never said they were of the meeting. They're just from it."
II
What They Say (and What They Imply), pg, Doctor Who. Unspecified time. As requested by
theyellow_daisy: Ten/Rose: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
"You are a doctor," Rose calmly repeats. "THE Doctor, as you sure stress enough."
"I am," the Doctor allows, still looking flustered.
"And you know what they say."
"They say a lot of things, Rose. They say 'a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush', but the two in the bush can have baby birds and become an empire of birds that try to take over the world with feathers and pecking. Pecking is more painful than you might think, actually. And 'joined at the hip' when actually, the first Siamese twins were joined at the chest and it's very uncommon to actually be joined at the hip at all..."
She waits calmly until he's finished, as it's usually best to when he goes off on one of his tangents.
"You know what they say," she repeats finally. "An apple away keeps the doctor away."
He points a finger at her with the barest amount of indignation and a lot more amount of amusement. "Which explains why you took a bite out of my apple..."
"... Exactly..."
"But not why it was still in my mouth as you did."
She looks at him, suit a little crumpled, hair a little unkempt, mind definitely all over the place; she can't quite remember when it became the most beautiful thing she knows of.
"Maybe I didn't want that particular Doctor to keep away," she says.
II
A Song Not Heard, pg, World of Warcraft. References to events of 'Wrath of the Lich King'. As requested by
sodzilla: Something Thrall would like to tell Jaina, but never will. (Bonus points if it's NOT "I love you".)
"Warchief," a light voice says, almost indistinguishable from the strong wind, but still stirs Thrall from his almost meditative state when the storm cannot.
"Jaina," he says, rising as the ruler of Theramore steps into his circle. "You came."
"Don't I always?" she says, a smile lurking at her lips. "Thrall, I must apologize for King Varian's words. You know they're not mine. I am sorry."
"They are his and not yours to apologize for," he assures her. He knows she is in a difficult position. She cannot risk cracks in the Alliance, not with the assault upon Northrend. She does not wish for open war with the Horde either, for more reasons than just keeping Theramore safe.
He knows her position is difficult; his is too.
"There is much anger between our two people," he goes on. She sighs a little. "I hope there will never be between us."
It's absurd how small her hand looks when it seeks his, he's often reflected. It never takes away the pleasure of the touch.
"Thrall," she says. She is only the second person he knows to make a name meant to demean him orginally sound the highest of praises.
He doesn't tell her that. She reminds him of Taretha, but he doesn't wish to make the comparison too apparent. To her or himself. He does not wish Taretha's fate upon Jaina, but he does fear it. Especially with the guilt she still feels for Arthas, another's darkness she should never apologize for and still seem to wish to.
One day it may drive her to contront the Lich King personally.
That's why he's already has the lok'vadnod ready for Jaina Proudmoore. She'll never hear it, the Song of a Hero meant to be composed after death and certainly never sung to someone still living to hear it.
He still wishes she could hear it from him and know there is nothing she needs to be sorry for to him. Nothing at all.
Instead, he just nods his head and holds on to her hand while the elements rage a little around them; they never seem to stop of late.
II
Resign to the Sky, pg, BSG. Set during Daybreak. As requested by
lotus79: Kara/Lee, resignation.
"Kara Thrace loves Lee Adama."
Once, she remembers, she said the words with joy, almost triumph. Throwing them at the sky like a challenge, daring the universe to do something about it.
The universe didn't. Kara did; marrying Sam.
That didn't change it. Even what she feels for Sam doesn't change it, just sometimes goes to battle with it and sometimes seems to join with it and sometimes just feels like a challenge too.
"Kara Thrace loves Lee Adama," she says again. It's still to the sky, Earth's sky this time. Lee isn't here to hear it now, still talking to his father some distance away. It isn't a challenge anymore either. It's a resignation.
Now she's done here.
Um, yeah. I'm terrible at containing myself.
