In preparation for my move, I've been sorting through old, old stuff and I found some scary things. Old whiny teenage diaries, horrid fashion clothes, bad, bad books I somehow managed to like way back. *shakes head* I did find fun stuff as well, though. Old pictures, including me as a baby and the time I got a hug from Bruce Boxleitner (my one shining fangirl moment). If I had a scanner, I would show some off. Alas, I don't.

Kinda fitting I found some of my old B5 stuff as well, given I've just fallen in love with it all over again.

I'd just like to say moving is still a pain in the bum, though. Boxes everywhere. I've already stubbed my pinkie twice. Ow. Because of the move, I'll be only sporadically on the Net for a few weeks starting next week. Don't miss me too much.

And then I wrote about death (for When the Dead Awaken) while cheerfully singing along to Robbie Williams. Yes, I have a weird mind, thanks for asking.

ETA: You GOTTA be kidding me! Urge to smack Bush with a trout rising...

ETA 2: On a more cheerful, and showing-off mood, a John/Delenn background made by yours truly. Pretty DVDs, yesssss.

Pick someone you like. It can be a friend, someone you have a crush on, just someone special. Write them a letter without ever mentioning their name. Post it, and see if they even reply, and if so, what they say.

Dear You,

So you already know I like you. We go back and you knew me when I was just me and very few knew my name. Do you know how much I adore you for that? If I ever turn into a bitch, I know you will tell me. You are a lifeline to me.

I wish you lived here, but it is not so. Thus I miss you. Norwegians assume words are not needed when you like someone, but I give them to you anyway.

You are my dearest friend online by far and you'd be a great friend in Real Life if you'd just lived somewhere close. I'm not sure exactly when it came to be so, but I am glad it did.

I miss you.

Hey :)

I do intend to reply to your email... last couple of weeks of uni though and I'm freaking out just a bit.

And I have to go to bed because I'm working from 6.30am tomorrow and that's in 8 hours not counting getting up, dressed, and eating. Ick.

Heaps of things to say and no time to say them! Your letter is very sweet, it made me melt. More from me tomorrow after I've had coffee! :)

I would love to think that letter is directed at me, heh, but whoever it IS for...well...lets just say they are one very very lucky little lass/laddy.

I never watched B5...but if I did, that background is the BEST!! Hehe

And that Kerry/Bush thing? HELLO STUPIDS!! I mean, what type of braindead seamonkeys do they have taking those damn polls? It's a true insult to humanity. Seriously, if aliens ever came down here and asked for a leader...I dread to think that they might take said alien to whatever "leader" they think they have. All I can hope for really is that they land in Norway first, move onto the rest of Europe THEN cross over the sea...and land in Africa and the northern arabian areas where they can at least see the result of the "leader" and blast him with their lazybeams when they finally get there.

Hehe, I wish I could see the Shrub's face when he finds out that first contact has been made by the Vikings. No offence...I think it would be an honour to be part of the people who turned his face into a Picasso.

*smiles and dreams*

Not the reply the meme says you're waiting for, but still... ;)

This administration's really not good at keeping people well-informed, is it? We're discussing elections in the message board I moderate, and it gets so disheartening when people claim their support for Bush or for the Iraq war yet either can't offer believable reasons and proof why they think Bush is right, or think of one fact and connect it to an unrelated opinion. (I spent hours tearing apart someone's faulty logic, and felt bad because I like the person and that made it feel like I was being mean or something, even though I know I wasn't. It's frustrating to see someone you respect as intelligent and rational relying on faulty logic to back her arguments up.) I'd be even more disheartened to see anti-Bush supporters doing it as well, and some do, but I don't see it on the same scale as I do with Bush supporters, honestly... it might be selective surroundings or something on my part.

*sighs and looks on calendar* One week and half a day left... and this was an interesting read, however things will really turn out.

Good luck with moving. :)

Chauvinistic, over-patriotic, arrogant bastards. How could anyone with a shred of intelligence vote this guy in?

My current theory is that Bush spreads his influence so that all non-Bush voters have "accidentally" had their polling booths destroyed. And then his one vote for himself does it.

People of America, is the alternative that bad?

Oh, screw them. I'll take Vikings over our current crop of pollies any day.

Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

As for the meme, I'm not in a writing mood. It'll be there later. Good luck with moving.

You don't need coffee, you need a holiday.

But then, don't we all?

You don't know what you're missing, never having seen B5. You missed the Vorlons!

How do you know Vikings haven't already made contact with aliens, hmm?

I've met people who thought Saddam was behind 9/11. Even people I like have believed this. To me it's just mindboggling.

But I guess if you repeat a lie or misinformation enough, it sneaks past the brain's defence and once it's taken root, it's hard to kick out. For who wants to think they might have been fooled?

Vikings are on standby to invade.

As for the election - well, the International observers haven't exactly complimented what's been going on. They're worried.

And so, I find, am I.

Aaaack, you can't leave me...Getting me addicted to B5. You suck...Pointless comment, I know, but I really want to get down to the "Dear You" thingy :) I'm a sentimental fool, shutup!

Dear You,

I had no idea when meeting you that you'd end up meaning this much to me. I'm used to losing people and somehow not caring but I will fight tooth and nail to always have you in my life. You're my twin, my sister, my other half, you're quite simply me. There are times when I want to murder you for reasons too numerous to list, yet I still adore you. The funny part is that you know me better than most and you still love me as well. Who said life was bad? I know that if I ever lose you, it'll be the day it'll end for me. I love you...

I will do my very best to pretend that you and I never had a conversation where you educated me on who did what, why and where...Also known as Saddam didn't plan 9/11, you naïve little cow.

Yeaaaaahh...there really are moments I'm grateful you lurk about in my life. Who else is going to provide me with some sort of political education (among other things)? *attempts to look dignified*

LOL, thanks. I'm definitely saving this page for later fun.

Shame I can't make him say "we surrender to New Vinland", but oh well.

To be fair, you're not the only one I've encountered who believe this. And partly, I think this is due to Bush's pretty effective "let's link Iraq and bin Laden" tactics. Repeat something often enough, and people start to believe. And if you don't know much about Iraq or Al Qaeda - well, you might not see the the lack of logic.

As for political education... I can only point to some sources and facts you had perhaps not considered. The rest is all up to you.

*blinks* Um, this meant for me? Because if not, you're supposed to post in in your LJ where the other person can see.

I have to agree, with good reason.

In other news, have you heard about the "hobbits" discovered in Indonesia?
