And then it was 2005. We've had a day of mourning here in Norway and it's been a strange passing of the year. I have never experienced anything like it. There is also the fear that I may know someone that is missing and perhaps swallowed by the sea, but I cannot know for sure as the list of missing has not been released. It has all left me in a strange mood and I actually, for the first time in my still young life, wept when hearing the national anthem.

2004 have been... Troublesome. The world worries me, I worry me and there seems to be mist and shadow everywhere I look. Maybe I'm having a mid-twenties crisis. Maybe the world is having a mid-four-and-a-half-billion-years crisis. Maybe we're both moody. There is nothing like a sense of death come knocking nearby to make you ponder your own life.

I'm not quite sure when this mood will pass, but attempts to cheer me up are not unwelcome.

So, Some of Cam's Resolutions for 2005: (watch her break at least half of them as the year goes on)

1. Finish OFUM2 already.
2. Decide what the heck she want with her life.
3. Improve herself.
4. Improve her Bush-hissing.
5. Visit a new country.
6. Do even more volunteer work.
7. Make someone feel a little bit better everyday.
8. Know more Red Dwarf quotes than my brother.
9. Lust with more dignity.
10. Snag a Lust Object.

Some of What Cam Wants for 2005: (shallowness and less shallowness mixing merrily)

1. Peace.
2. No Bush.
3. Happiness for the greatest number of people possible.
4. New computer.
5. To win the lottery and be able to devot her life to volunteer work and travelling.
6. Her country to be safe, calm and fairly prosperous.
7. Hot oiled men.
8. Less pain at that time of the month.
9. A good year for her friends.
10. A pretty LJ style of her own and pretty icons too.

Have English chocolate. Am willing to share. *offers some*

8. Less pain at that time of the month.

WHEN are they going to invent some over-the-counter medicine for that that actually works, anyway? Isn't this supposed to be 2005 already? :P

Heehee, I like seeing "No Bush" as part of a LOT of people's hopes. If only...

*wishes she had more talent for LJ layouts and icons so she could offer some* (Well, I CAN offer some, but they're boring/crappy. :P)

Well, Happy New Year, and may what wishes can, come true.

If you tell me what icons you want, I can give it a go for you? (Well, after January 6th and the evil oral exam of death. What a way to start the new year.)

No Bush is veryvery good...

The problem with no Bush is if he dies Cheney becomes presidend, and Cheney is as bad or worse. If HE dies, Rumsfeld becomes president, and Rumsfeld is the "genius" behind the Iraq war. 'Nuff said. And so on. The whole chain of command is horrible.

*hot, oiled men*

Of course. Anyone in particular?
I'm sure "No Bush" is on the lists of most non-Americans this year.

You have my personal full sympathies and support for the tsunami tragedy. I'm working on putting together a care package to be sent via the International Red Cross myself.

And as regards to your pair of lists, Miss Cam... Please, improve on the Bush-hissing, I'll be right there next to you doing the same.

And I don't want Bush either... We Americans just can't ever seem to get a decent president since Ronald Reagan.

And hot oiled men are always a good thing.

As a sidenote, I'd like to write a sidebar to OFUM, if that's all right with you. I'd be glad to send you what I have written at the moment.

Eh, make no mistake, though. At least half of all Americans have "No Bush" on the mind as well. We didn't ALL vote for teh bastard.

A nice 500mg dose of Naproxen works wonders for number eight on that second list of yours. ('Course, I would recommend talking to your doctor about that before trying it, but I probably didn't have to say that, since you're a smart person. :D)

Yeah, I'm a fan of naproxen, even if it's supposed to cause heart attacks. :P

The day women rule the Earth.

Ah, it's okay. It was more sort of a overall wish for 2005. I'm horrid at thinking of icons to do, but I know pretty when I see it. Then I snag :P

That does sound painful as a start. Hope it went well.

I could think of quite a few...

But then, I also like a good surprise. Hmmm. *ponders*

It is pretty heartwarming to see how many care about this tragedy. In my country, in the world at large - it does show some of humankind's better sides.

What kind of sidebar, exactly?

Hmm. Never heard of that. I tend to use Ibux. It does work quite a lot, as when I forget to take it, I want to die. When I take it, I just curse the world a lot.

An author writing deliberate badfic to get the attention of the staff... so I can give notice that I want to inflict pain and suffering on all those that decide that a grammar and/or spellchecker isn't needed. I may not be a mini-Balrog, much less you or any of the LOTR crew when it comes to dishing out pain, but I'm not a bad hand at it, if I do say so myself.

Well, I could take a look at it, I suppose, though I have been a bit restrictive about stories starring OFUM students. I don't really want a hundred "OFUM; my POV" stories reusing my jokes, you know?

Oh, it's not anything like that (heck, I'm not even a student at OFUM), but I've posted it on my LJ, if you'd like to take a look.

No, he doesn't. Dennis Hastert does. It's President, VP Speaker of the House, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense. I think. *is far too lazy to check*
