Wheee-hee!

Just updated East of the Sun, West of the Moon for the last time. You can read ch. 36 and the epilogue here (CSI Forensics) or here & here (ff.net).

It is done. My longest ever CSI fic - though not my longest fanfic ever. Both OFUMs are a little longer, I believe. But still, over 60000 words is pretty impressive, I do think. I feel almost sad. It's been very lovely writing it for many reasons. Whatever shall I write now?

Much love and chocolate to [livejournal.com profile] chaoticmatter and [livejournal.com profile] briasoleil both for beta work. *bows*

I wish I could make icons to celebrate. Ah well. I'll have more ice cream instead. (Yes, I have pretty much spent Sunday lazying in the sun, eating ice cream, watering the garden, reading books and watching/listening to football. I looooooove summer Sundays.)

ETA: Ff.net takes the opportunity to disable its login and review functions just after I posted. Wow, great timing. *mutter*

Whatever shall I write now?

*ahem* I seem to remember a conversation involving a foursome fic that you were supposed to be writing. *ahem*

Just sayin'!

And it's been a pleasure to be a part of the process. I'm a little sad that it's over.

Yes, I know. I also have a Warrick/Sara story slowly getting longer. So I shall hardly be without things to do. But they'll all be one-shots. No long WIP to finish any more... How peculiar.

Yeah, me too. It's often bittersweet to finish a project.

Aaaaw. Thank you.

(I'm so mean to actually enjoy making people sad.)

Oooh! Interesting. I'd be very keen to read the W/S fic. And there's nothing wrong with one-shots. Sometimes, I feel that authors are so intent on getting praise or whatnot that they push a series longer than it really should be. Which just weakens the writing overall.

And if you'd like to call upon me as a beta, I am, as ever, at your service.

Here I am.

So where do I start from?

I think you shall have a backwards review, because I feel so inclined. So I'll start from the end.

1)The ending. I was actually dreading it (firstly because, well it's an ending and it means this beautiful story sadly had to end at some point. Secondly because I was afraid you'd pull something like this). Guess what?
I LOVED IT. An open-ended ending. Brilliant.

Usually I hate films that end this way, but this time I didn't. You always get me, Cam. My optimistic and hopelessly romantic self decided there's some sort of happy ending waiting where you left off. *Sniff*

2)The writing. AWESOME. Lyrical prose. You have a way with words that's unique and moving and great. Your descriptions are some of the best I've ever read. And I don't mean only in fanfiction. I mean in literature.

3)The characterization. FLAWLESS. Superb. Spot on. (I especially love your Greg. Must be the Norwegian affinity).

4)The romance. No one writes CWR better than you do. And your GSR is one of the finest around either. Your Grissom's introspection always leaves me speechless. He's such a complex character and you always manage to get him and his relationship with Sara down so perfectly.

5)The mystery. Intriguing, well-written, gripping. With some amazing killer's POV. First-rate mystery, really.

And I appreciated your timely updates a lot. I did. Even if I whined and complained all the time. I simply do not know how to wait patiently. Sorry (Many thanks to your betas too).

It's been a great journey and I'm sorry it's over at last. I'll miss waiting eagerly for the updates and reading the chapters first thing in the morning.

I thank you for all this.
Grazie!!!

Ha! I rock the awesome endings so hard. And you didn't think people would like it open-ended. ;)

I left you a review!

Heh, who can resist nekkid Warrick, even in print? I think I might finish it one of these days. It's mainly written, I just haven't focused on polishing it much.

And you can certainly beta it if you like.

I know what you mean about some series going on waaaaaaaaaaaay too long. I've read a few. Sheesh.

:):) Thank you for the detailed feedback. I was a bit concerned people would get all upset at the open ending and think I was just setting up a sequel (which really, I'm not. I'm not sure there'll ever be one).

And my ego's probably not coming down for a week ;)

Heh, yeah, I was a bit worried about it, but you were definitely right.

Thank you :) Hope you're feeling better these days too.
