OFUCSI Update and Blackadder Remake?
Jul. 15th, 2005 08:58 amOFUCSI is updated - Chapter Six: Of Google Groping and Nefarious A/V Techs
I'm feeling mean today. I'm feeling mean because I keep seeing really badfic be recommended or reviewed happily and because people keep hassling me to review their shit because I'm "Miss Cam". What am I, a fanfic seal of a approval? And I do not like badfic. I am a fanfic snob. Very, very rarely do I ever truly love a story. And then when I don't, and review saying that to the person who asked, I still feel bad. All this sparked - drumroll, please! -
Cam's Suggestion of Ten Things To Keep In Mind While Reviewing
1. Just because you squee'd all over someone's story doesn't mean they will squee all over yours.
2. Reviewing is not an obligation. You reviewing another story is not a demand for that author to review you.
3. It helps to have read the fic before you review.
4. Not every story needs a sequel.
5. It helps to have enough care for spelling and grammar so that the author understands your review.
6. Just because the story is not about your pairing doesn't make the author the anti-Christ you can banish with your awesome power of Caps Lock insults.
7. "AWESOME" is indeed a nice compliment, but maybe you could add just what you found awesome so the author doesn't think it's the Caps Lock key?
8. It's not a crime not to like a story and you don't need to apologise for it, as if somehow it's your fault.
9. Slash is not the evil that will destroy the Universe and hitting it with Bible quotes or "slash is disgusting" isn't going to make it all het bunny love under rainbows.
10. If an author is holding the story for review-random, you don't always have to pay it. There'll be a new one along tomorrow.

lotus79 horrified me with today - American remake of Blackadder?
The American Remake of Blackadder has now been confirmed by CNN. [later corrected to FOX, Cam ed.] Though they've decided to get rid of the historical conext, they promise that they are going to stay true to the original. Apparently, it will be set in modern day New York, Blackadder and Bladrick will be living in a highrise flat. It will be loosely based around 'Blackadder the third', with a senator replacing the Prince Regent as their employer.
Playing Blackadder will be the infamous Steve Martin, Rob Schneider will be taking on the role of Baldrick. Rumours have begun to circulate that Hank Azaria will take on the role of the senator, but nothing as of yet has been confirmed. (...)
I particularly liked the one where Edmund pretended to be the scarlett pimpernell, I think they would easily be able to set that particular episode in modern day. I think it would be
really cool if, maybe the scarlett pimpernell (and Edmund Blackadder pretends to be him for the benefit of the senators approval) started rescuing American soldiers from Iraq, or something like that. Now THAT would be REALLY cool
Please tell me it's a joke. *hugs Blackadder* I fear it will be like the American remake of Red Dwarf, and that one burns.
A meme: Ask me for "top five" lists of pretty much anything, and I will list you my top five of that thing or things.
Copy and give your own top fives.
