Morbid Thoughts and Fictional Men to Shag
Aug. 1st, 2005 12:26 amMorbid thought at one a.m - who would truly miss you if you were gone? How much do we affect the people around us, truly? The human will to survive is great. People around us are torn away, but we learn to live with the holes.
I have no idea why I'm even thinking about this, but maybe the recent terrorism attacks in Britain have left a certain grip on me too. It'll probably pass, but meanwhile I have a cold sensation at the back of my neck. It's not quite fear and not a preminition, just a feeling of bad things coming. Bad things always come eventually, but it usually doesn't trouble me in the now. What was, was and what will be is still being shaped. So why am I feeling this now?
The first traces of autumn, maybe, which always bring a certain sense of change. Perhaps I'm growing older and more cynical and think change more of a bad, who knows.
Ah well. What will come, will come and I'll know what it is soon enough.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to list five fictional characters (NOT celebrities) that you would take to bed. You must list the characters name, the fandom they inhabit, and a brief explanation of why you think the horizontal tango would be a worthwhile pursuit. When finished, tag five people to do the meme as well.
Faramir of Gondor (Lord of the Rings) Faramir has a gentle heart, is wise and kind, a warrior not for the love of battle but for the love of what he defends, a fair man, but not without his darkness. He's meant for Éowyn, but that doesn't mean I'm blind.
Warrick Brown (CSI) Hot. Hot, hot, hot. Also smart, good at what he does, musical, with a troubled past, supportive and did I mention hot?
Arnold Rimmer (Red Dwarf) I know, I know, the man is an utter git, cowardly, assy and makes love like a Japanse meal (small portions, but so many courses). And still I want him. I'd train him good too, have no fear.
Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice, Bridget Jonses's Diary) In both incarnations, Mr. Darcy is haughty, clever, slightly shy in his own way and gentle behind it. Also amazingly sexy, especially in the wrapping of Colin Firth, who IS Mr. Darcy to me. Mmmm-mmm.
Arthur Dent (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, movie) I'm sad. Though the movie is nowhere near the greatness of the book, movieverse Arthur for some reason hit me in all the right spots. He's just so English. Also cute, ocassionally a prat, knows how to queue and could make me morning tea.
Really, I fancy a lot of Brits.

ETA: Anyone know of a place for good Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy icons for the movie? (Yes, I have finally seen it. Wheee.) Me wants some. (Really, I should get myself one with Arthur and "Shaggigly British". Oh yes.)
