Writing Woes and Kitten Wars
Aug. 12th, 2005 11:20 amLast thing Cam needs to do is start another WIP, right? So this is of course exactly what Cam does. You can find the prologue of Shades of Dawn here (ff.net) or here (CSI Forensics). It's a GSR fic.
But fear not, I have also written quite a bit on the next OFUCSI chapter, which has required more than a little research into various not too pleasant things (among them, the stages of decomp of a body). Hopefully, I should have it done in a few days, if I don't squick myself out first.
Have also finished my Geekfiction Ficathon assignment and it will be happily beta'ed by
briasoleil. Whee. One more done on my list over fics to do. I shall slowly make my way through it, have no fear.
Incidentally, can a kind soul somewhere make me a prettier "Public Access" banner than this - http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64/MissCamilla/park9.jpg? Anything out of CSI or LotR fandom would be lovely. *bats eyelashes* Pretty please? (I have no shame.) If you need CSI caps, I got a few here or here
Meanwhile, to cheer you all up - Kitten Wars!
In the news:
Researchers have found the world's northernmost underwater hot springs
Inca strings may be closer to being deciphered
One face of the growing American losses in Iraq
Iraq insurgents change techniques

Isn't Bush on another one of his more-than-a-month-long vacations now?I know that despite how I feel about the war having started, it probably wouldn't be the best idea to just pack up and leave until the "mission is completed" (as much as we can complete it) but still, that statement makes me wince.*squees at kitties* Have you heard of
And there's my kitty, meowing loudly outside...

Date: 2005-08-12 03:41 pm (UTC)I don't think I'd want Bush's sympathy (if it were real--I can't tell just by reading that he says he "sympathizes"), myself.

Date: 2005-08-12 03:23 am (UTC)OFUCSI? Is this something new, or old enough that I missed the first reference? *is deeply interested*
Especially if you're writing it ... I just love your GSR fics ...

Date: 2005-08-12 02:51 pm (UTC)Vengeance can be sweet, but so can education and the CSI characters have decided it’s time to do some teaching about fanfic. Shipwars, mayhem, lusting, oh my! Welcome to OFUCSI.

Date: 2005-08-12 03:31 am (UTC)And ew on the research for OFUCSI. If it's too squicky, you could pass the buck on those parts. What squicks you might not squick me?

Date: 2005-08-12 03:42 am (UTC)And agreed on passing the buck of research. If everyone else gets squicked, there's always me. I'm unsquickable, been on

Date: 2005-08-12 03:19 pm (UTC)Hmmm, I do like these:

Maybe one of those spark an idea.
I'm pretty sure a body in an advanced state of decomposition would aquick you too. Lovingly explain in great detail, too. I'm only using some of the details for the class itself, though. Ew, to echo Nina.

Date: 2005-08-12 09:05 pm (UTC)You're probably right about the squick factor. I can just see Nina and Theresa getting squicked by the fact that they agreed totally on the squick...
Damn you, Kitten Wars! Damn you!
