Randoms Thoughts on a Thursday Afternoon
Sep. 1st, 2005 05:21 pmChicks brags to Fanficrants about review she left and fanfic's consequent removal/yanking. Some people are amused. Some people are not amused. Bonus - wank about Queensland
Random thoughts of the day:
* It's kinda sad when you're making yourself an Amazon wishlist in case you ever win the lottory. So many pretties I want... Yes, I am a shallow child of the consumer generation, thanks for asking.
* Am I the only one who likes to read bad reviews and snerk? (Case in point- Undiscovered - "Not one character has the emotional maturity of an English muffin. If we could harness the intellectual energy of everyone involved in this, we could toast one. Lightly. ") Most of the time, I don't even plan on seeing the movie. I guess this is why I hang at GAFF and is a big old meanie.
* If someone calls RPF 'rape' one more time, I might scream. I don't write or read RPF myself as it often makes me feel vaguely uncomfortable, but I do not like seeing the word 'rape' get thrown lightly about. Nor the word nazi for that matter. Maybe I'm peculiar.
* Catastrophes are very good at taking your mind of your own misery. Maybe that's why we're so fascinated with them.
* Badfic line of the day: "Can all passenger’s that belong to fright number 182 to Toronto, Ontario, please start boarding.
In the news:
Katrina tests US
New Orleans: Nature's revenge?
Some papers point finger at Bush for bad management after and before hurricane Katrina
Katrina causes oil prices to go up
Norway shoots least of Nordic countries
Norwegians may be missing in New Orleans

Date: 2005-09-01 02:38 pm (UTC)But anyway, while people were dying in New Orleans, Bush was eating a birthday cake with Sen McCain and smiling. He also played a guitar with a presidental seal on it. This was either yesterday or the day before.
He flew over NO in AF1 looking out the window. There's a pic of the SINGLE TEAR.

Date: 2005-09-02 06:44 am (UTC)I don't either, in both cases. And concerning nazis - how uninspired! If you want to give me rassistic names, call me kraut (americans), boche (french) or moffen (dutch). Be creative, folks! *grins*
