And Norway's people speak...
Sep. 13th, 2005 02:17 amAnd they doth sayeth "bitch, please. We like socialism. And two men kissing. Give us."
That's right, there has been an election.
And the results rather point to a new government. The so-called "red-green alliance" of the Labour, Socialist Left and Centre Party repsectively will have majority in Parliament and if managing to agree between them, be able to rule for four years. No more Bondevik and the Christian People's Party - they had a dreadful, dreadful election.
This will be our new prime minister
The irony of it all is that Norway's probably never had it better than right now and still we desired a change. I suppose a lot of us believe we could do even better.
This also means there's now a majority for making gay and heterosexual marriage legally completely equal and adoption rights for gays. Clearly, we're all depraved and perverted and baaaaad. And still we're the best country in the world to live in.
... Maybe there's a link there.
In the news:
Red-green alliance forges ahead
Sami election tight as well
Tax row dominates Norwegian election
Tight election in oil-rich Norway
Saving the animals of New Orleans
BBC Viewpoint: After so many years of Social Darwinism, Hurricane Katrina could reawaken the
American people's appetite for compassion in government
EU also urges more oil output (we're putting out as much oil as we can already, thank you very much)
Tail ends of two hurricanes to hit Norway

Nice try, but no trout.
And yes, you do. But I am a patient soul, as I must be, coming from the best country in the world to live in, that outpost of

So I'm going to have to work on Australia's levels of perversion and general baaadness. And then maybe we'll get nice politicians.
New PM looks really young compared to the Shrub and Bonsai. (But of course, ANYONE is going to look young compared to the Shrub and Bonsai, so I guess it doesn't make that much difference...)
