Looking forward to the new season myself, but I really do enjoy Nine. Not sure how Ten will do it yet.

Date: 2005-10-03 07:25 pm (UTC)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/lucimon/livejournal/ljheader_docroseKopie.gif and the Icon was my standard icon ^^;
I love Nine. He'll always be my Doctor, but I do look forward to seeing David Tennant as the Doctor :)
Re: Thank ye!
Date: 2005-10-03 07:32 pm (UTC)I'm sure David Tennant will be good. But Christopher was fantastic. Couldn't he just have done one more season, at least? Sniff.
Re: Thank ye!
Date: 2005-10-03 07:43 pm (UTC)Yes, he was fantastic. And it sucks he always wanted to do only one season...uuuurgh :(

Date: 2005-10-03 08:18 pm (UTC)And thanks, am trying my best. The Doctor is a bit hard to balance, but he'd definitely intriguing to try to wrap one's head around.
I await my next plotbunny's command.
And love the icon.
Fantastic.
Date: 2005-10-03 08:22 pm (UTC)I think I could get used to your lucky streak of inspiration. :)
Re: Fantastic.
Date: 2005-10-03 08:39 pm (UTC)Wouldn't feel like the show if I didn't have what makes the show, y'know? Course, one can emphasis one aspect or another, but I like the wrapping of it the way it is.
I think I could get used to it too.
Heh, my LJ's turned into 'The little club of Doctor Who addicts'.
Re: Fantastic.
Date: 2005-10-03 08:56 pm (UTC)Which is not necessarily a bad thing. ;)

Date: 2005-10-03 10:13 pm (UTC)But having a multifandom-journal only means that you can introduce other people to the shiny. Of course, I'm not speaking as part of your CSI crowd now, but I usually don't mind reading one, because I'll get a glimpse of other TV shows, movies, books etc. -- which helps me to kill even more time with fandom stuff. :)

Date: 2005-10-03 10:46 pm (UTC)But yeah, maybe I can lure in some innocents. Bait with some fanfic and great quotes and hot pics, maybe.
I love the sonic screwdriver.
It's sonic, totally sonic, I am soniced up!
Re: Fantastic.
Date: 2005-10-03 10:49 pm (UTC)BBC and British authors formed a lot of my childhood. Roald Dahl and Thomas the Tank Engine and what-not. Probably what British-fied me for life.

Oh yeah. Plus, wank wears on ya when initial enthusiasm fades away.

Date: 2005-10-03 11:25 pm (UTC)PBS on Sundays for me. Dr. Who, Monty Python, Sapphire & Steel, Blake's 7, and oddness from my own side of the Atlantic like The Tomorrow People.

I'm still mostly mystified by wank. Even so, it's a huge turn-off.

Date: 2005-10-04 08:59 am (UTC)And yes, the icon is rather spiffing. I nabbed this one too while I was at it.
I think you might like Tom Baker's Doctor. Not quite as 'wisecracking' as Ecclestone, but definitely with a good chunk of tongue-in-cheek humour (he wanders about with a bag of jellybabies) combined with piercing intelligence. He'll always be 'my' Doctor since he's the one I grew up watching (and spent most of that time hiding behind the sofa terrified of the really rubbishy looking monsters).

Hmmm, it could also yield some really cheesy pick-up lines: "Is that a sonic screwdriver in your pocket, or are you just glad to have met me?"

Date: 2005-10-04 10:23 am (UTC)I'll have to watch some older Who sometime. Rubbish-looking monsters is just part of the charm... And so are the Daleks. It's meant to be a little cheesy. That's part of the charm of it.
Re: Fantastic.
Date: 2005-10-04 10:25 am (UTC)Proof that humanity probably would be like Jack in the future, knowing our gutterminds.
Re: Fantastic.
Date: 2005-10-04 10:30 am (UTC)Really, once you've gone British, there is just no hope. Might as well resign oneself to it.
Wank as a turn-off? Heh. But yeah, there's always wank and even if one tries to look at the funny side, it can be tiresome.
