Aaaah, you made that wallpaper I'm now using - I had apparently saved it before I saw Doctor Who cos I liked it and now that I got hooked, I started using it, but couldn't remember where I'd found it. Mystery solved. And now, icon to match.

Need more pretties... Yes, precioussss...

Looking forward to the new season myself, but I really do enjoy Nine. Not sure how Ten will do it yet.

LOL yay you use my wallpaper ♥ hehe the wallpaper was actually my header I used during my DW phase (lol)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/lucimon/livejournal/ljheader_docroseKopie.gif and the Icon was my standard icon ^^;

I love Nine. He'll always be my Doctor, but I do look forward to seeing David Tennant as the Doctor :)

Aaaaah. LJ layout, mmm.... Ack, mustn't get ideas.

I'm sure David Tennant will be good. But Christopher was fantastic. Couldn't he just have done one more season, at least? Sniff.

Very nice Doctor fic. Want more! :D You're on a roll, now, aren't you? ;D It's excellent - entirely believable as a setting, and I think you have their characters (especially the Doctor's wisecracking charm) spot on.

More please! *bounces in anticipation*

I haven't been this inspired in ages. I'd forgotten the feeling. Whee-hee.

And thanks, am trying my best. The Doctor is a bit hard to balance, but he'd definitely intriguing to try to wrap one's head around.

I await my next plotbunny's command.

And love the icon.

I await my next plotbunny's command. I'm looking forward to seeing the result.

And yes, the icon is rather spiffing. I nabbed this one too while I was at it.

I think you might like Tom Baker's Doctor. Not quite as 'wisecracking' as Ecclestone, but definitely with a good chunk of tongue-in-cheek humour (he wanders about with a bag of jellybabies) combined with piercing intelligence. He'll always be 'my' Doctor since he's the one I grew up watching (and spent most of that time hiding behind the sofa terrified of the really rubbishy looking monsters).

Now, don't give it stagefright.

I'll have to watch some older Who sometime. Rubbish-looking monsters is just part of the charm... And so are the Daleks. It's meant to be a little cheesy. That's part of the charm of it.

Fantastic.

Once again, I'm amazed that you succeed in capturing the tone of the show so well: a sci-fi setting, melancholy, goofy humour and a bit of sappy romance, all neatly wrapped up.

I think I could get used to your lucky streak of inspiration. :)

:)

Wouldn't feel like the show if I didn't have what makes the show, y'know? Course, one can emphasis one aspect or another, but I like the wrapping of it the way it is.

I think I could get used to it too.

Heh, my LJ's turned into 'The little club of Doctor Who addicts'.

No, I'm loving it. But I feel sorry for those who friended me for CSi ramblings or something and I'm suddenly all squeeing over some weird TV show from Britain that's probably about hospitals.

About hospitals where they've got sonic screw-drivers and do plastic surgery with chainsaws...

But having a multifandom-journal only means that you can introduce other people to the shiny. Of course, I'm not speaking as part of your CSI crowd now, but I usually don't mind reading one, because I'll get a glimpse of other TV shows, movies, books etc. -- which helps me to kill even more time with fandom stuff. :)

Like you need even more fandom stuff :P

But yeah, maybe I can lure in some innocents. Bait with some fanfic and great quotes and hot pics, maybe.

I love the sonic screwdriver.

It's sonic, totally sonic, I am soniced up!

Hmmm, it could also yield some really cheesy pick-up lines: "Is that a sonic screwdriver in your pocket, or are you just glad to have met me?"

It certainly doesn't bother me! I've watched Dr. Who since I was a little kid, and while I haven't seen Nine yet, I've got a line on the DVDs and can't wait to watch them. The BBC shaped a lot of my childhood.

And I can understand the thrill of a new fandom. After a while in one fandom, it can feel as though everything that needs to be said has been said.

Nine is great. You'll love it. And the Daleks show up.

BBC and British authors formed a lot of my childhood. Roald Dahl and Thomas the Tank Engine and what-not. Probably what British-fied me for life.

Oh yeah. Plus, wank wears on ya when initial enthusiasm fades away.

PBS on Sundays for me. Dr. Who, Monty Python, Sapphire & Steel, Blake's 7, and oddness from my own side of the Atlantic like The Tomorrow People.

... wank wears on ya when initial enthusiasm fades away.

I'm still mostly mystified by wank. Even so, it's a huge turn-off.

Lots of good choices there ;)

Really, once you've gone British, there is just no hope. Might as well resign oneself to it.

Wank as a turn-off? Heh. But yeah, there's always wank and even if one tries to look at the funny side, it can be tiresome.
