Would anyone read a Doctor Who/CSI crossover? Or Doctor Who/Nordic mythology? They're both slightly appealing to me. The Doctor and Grissom meeting, now that would be something.
Hmmm, bunnies, bunnies.
Has this story been confirmed?
Republican lawmakers are drafting new legislation that will make marriage a requirement for motherhood in the state of Indiana, including specific criminal penalties for unmarried women who do become pregnant 'by means other than sexual intercourse.'
Because.... The mind boggles. WTF? As I understand it, people cover these in-vitro tries a lot themselves in the US. So what business is it of the state if they go to church or not or prefer not to be married? And as a child of parents who never married, but still stick together, I can ensure y'all that's gone just fine.
I worry about the US sometimes. Then again, I worry about most places.
Speaking of something totally different, what the sod am I doing on a mainly Harry Potter list of fandom awesome? My contribution to HP fandom is minimal at best.
Cool idea, though. But really, as I told
wiccagirl24 some days ago, "point, laugh and fanfics, story of my fandom life". That's basically what I do, innit? Slightly dull perhaps, but there are worse fates.
And apparently, I'm also a royal miserlyness. Hee, this chick gives me all the funny names. (For the curious, she's still miffed I wouldn't okay her Good Omens OFU because someone else was already doing one.)
Which sparks a meme idea -
give me a nickname and I shall give you one. Aim for it to be fairly non-general.

Date: 2005-10-05 11:22 pm (UTC)Indiana tends to be conservative, but the logistics of this bill are impossible. They could never enforce it, even if they didn't get rioted to death before the vote. And at worst, it would lead to a series of quick, opportunistic marriages that would quickly be dissolved. And I'm sure Indiana doesn't want to be known as the divorce capitol of the US.

Date: 2005-10-06 10:01 am (UTC)And whoever suggested the bill didn't consider all that first? Feh. Idiocy, gotta love it.

And a Doctor Who/CSI crossover? The Doctor and Gil Grissom in the same room, working together
with the added benefit of the Doctor possibly at least rattling Grissom a little, if not outright freaking him out? Hell yes I'd read that!no subject

Date: 2005-10-06 05:25 am (UTC)As for the propsed legislation, nothing that screwy and logistically impossible would be passed. Yeah, the US pulls some nimrod crap, but not usiually the kind that defies all manner of common sense and logic.
