OFUCSI update!

You may all now faint in shock.

I'm gonna be meeting ligaras from YTDAW on Thursday. (She's home in Norway for a while.) Scaaaary. I don't usually meet a lot of the people I chat to online, being in Norway and all. Meeting people IRL that have read my fanfic feels weird. But hopefully, shall be fun. She's brought me goodies from the US. I like goodies.

Thus meme the first, because I'm bored:
If you could meet me, where would you like it to happen and what would we do?

Meme the second:
Have you ever had a favour you've wanted to ask me, but been afraid to or felt is too much of a bugger? Here's your chance - I'm opening for Bribing Cam. Specify your favour, not your bribe and I shall attempt to do it. If mission completed, cough up your bribe and the trade of services is complete. You get your favour, Cam gets a surprise. (And of course, matching the size of the favour to the size of the bribe is always advisable. Can be anything from an icon to Pop-Tarts. Cam's addicted to Pop-Tarts, but they can't be found in Norway.)

(What? I'm truly bored.)

Meme the third:
Nicked from [livejournal.com profile] spunkiegal. For newbies or the simply bored.

OMG new OFUCSI! *flails* Love the way you dealt with the ship war, and... now I really want to know what was in that bathtub. Circumstances have caused me to miss the last few episodes, alas, so if it was in there I'm screwed.

And you can have Pop-Tarts for (insert winter holiday here). Remind me around (winter holiday) time and I'll mail some out.

No, you don't.

Oooh, exciting. It's rather horrible getting addicted to something abroad and find it lacking in your own country. When I rule the world, I'm gonna have to get them imported just for me.

I said this in my review of OFUCSI, but I have to say it again...I loved Archie wishing that he could teleport away like a Power Ranger. In-jokes like that are my favorites.

I remember the first episode of CSI that I saw that had Archie in it. I almost did a double-take and went, "Dude! He used to be a Power Ranger!"

One of my best friends is someone I met online. Fortunately we live close enough for semi-regular visits, so that helps. It was definitely awkward at first though. ligaras strikes me as a supremely cool person, hope you guys have fun.

Meme the 1st: If we met...hmmm, I'd want it to be in Norway, never having been off the continent before. What would we do...hang out and get food? I'm sure we'd find plenty to talk about once the initial weirdness wore off.

Meme the 2nd: I can't think of anything off hand that I'd want to bribe you to do...if I had a fic finished, I might try to bribe you to beta, but I don't, so, alas.

Meme the 3rd: Bored, but not quite bored enough, sorry :)

Date: 2005-10-11 05:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
I'm sure it'll be allright. We're both Norwegian, so if all else fails, we can discuss things American misunderstand about is.

That initial weirdness is weird.

*Squees over the new OFUCSI chapter and leaves a review*

In regards to the first meme:

I'd like it to happen in Norway, as A. I've never been there, and B. It's well far away from the US. As for what we'd do... I'm not sure... I'd probably spoil you and wait on you hand and foot.

Date: 2005-10-11 05:20 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
And why ain't I meeting people like you IRL again?

Norway's got a whole ocean between it and the US. Go ocean!

From: [identity profile] siraj.livejournal.com
"And why ain't I meeting people like you IRL again?"

Because I'm a poor son of a bitch at the moment... stupid convention, why must you be so fun...

But honestly, I'll make my way over eventually... I can deal with the cold, methinks.

1. Hmm... I'd say if I went to Norway, then wherever you are in Norway, and if you came to the U.S., then either Boston, New York City, Hartford, or some little quaint New Englandy place around here, depending on your tastes and pre-existing travel plans. I'm kind of a moody person in real life and can't say whether I'd crash and get boringly quiet or would get energetic and overbear you with my nervous chatty talk, so I'd perhaps just not to have either of us go too far out of the way to meet, and suggest maybe starting off with a quick, casual activity (like lunch or ice cream while people-watching or something), and provide a chance afterward to either decide to hang out and explore some sights or shops around whatever city we're in, or to drift off separately.

2. Can't think of any favors, unless they have Fanta Exotic (a drink I got utterly addicted to in Ireland, but can't find anywhere here) around where you are...

Hi: Hi?
Five random things:
1. I have a Polish last name people have trouble pronouncing. (Telemarketers think up the funniest mispronunciations.)
2. Chip was actually born a stray in Houston, Texas. Mom and I wonder if he's part Burmese, because he reminds us so much of our old Burmese cat, Razzy.
3. I'm primarily known online for being a cat-lover (surprise, surprise), but offline, people associate me just as much with loving dolphins.
4. I don't mean to, but I always pay attention to the amount of semicolons a person uses in their writing. When I see more than a few, especially used where a comma would have been better, I can't help but speculate with things like: "This person seems to think semicolons are just a decorative punctuation mark that makes their writing look more impressive or 'educated,'" or "I bet this person turned in a paper for school, and their teacher slashed out a lot of their commas and suggested semicolons instead without explaining why, and now this person can't tell which punctuation mark to use!"
5. Chip's been mad at me these past few days, because whenever he wanted outside, I couldn't stop the rain for him. (But I did give him some cottage cheese and roast beef, so he forgave me.)

Five random things:
1. I like avacados...a lot.
2. Going out with wet hair at 10:00 at night in October in Minnesota makes you really cold.
3. There appear to be at least two chemistry professors who have lab reports due tomorrow, judging by the number of people in the computer lab. I wish they wouldn't coincide, it makes the lab noisy...
4. My floormates seriously need to learn to shut up after quiet hours.

Chocolate for Pop-Tarts? I'd be down with that. I've sent marzipan to the US before, and it did arrive fine. So it's doable.

I am, in fact, very conservative. How did we end up friends again?

I don't know. We snark too much to remember that fact? I could smack you with a trout if that makes you feel better.

Mmm, tea icon... If you feel connected enough to the British, you might be able to get away with using it too.

A bit late, I know...

but my "favour" would be to write me some more nine/rose (or ten/rose, I guess) fic. Cuz I'm bored, and I finished watching all the eps.

When's the next season gonna be available? (given this season isn't anywhere near Australia yet, LOL)

And my bribe... you said not to tell. But it'll probably be good.
