Oh, bollocks.

It's snowing. First snow of the winter, October 25th. Brrrrr.

I take it Miss Cam doesn't like snow?

-sends Hawaiian weather if desired-

Date: 2005-10-25 06:24 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Oh no, I tend to quite like it. But the first is always a bit of a bugger, cos my body isn't quite in wintermode yet and the thought of socks drives me into despair.

From: [identity profile] kittycatness.livejournal.com
Ah. Understandable.

Please don't get sick.

Date: 2005-10-25 06:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Oh, one always gets a bit sick in winter in Norway. But that's okay. I'll hundle in bed and watch Doctor Who.

From: [identity profile] kittycatness.livejournal.com
Lucky.
Not the "one always gets a bit sick" bit. But the "living in Norway and getting to watch Doctor Who" bits.

This country is good for a few things, indeed. *pets Doctor Who*

More than a few. Northern Lights? I don't get that.

My grandmother (mum's side) was half-Norwegian.

I like your country.

Date: 2005-10-25 07:16 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Really? Neat!

Yeah, northern lights and midnight sun and fjords and oil riches. S'not bad.

My country likes you too.

From: [identity profile] kittycatness.livejournal.com
Yeah.

Lucky. Norway is gorgeous.

Yay.

That's a very odd thought, it snowing. Right now, it's very grey, but fairly warm, so my mind is finding it difficult to cope with.

Heh. Imagine me travelling home from Brisbane to Norway in December - from subtropical heat to snow. There's a nice clash right there.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com
Well, the one time that I was in Queensland, I went from leaving Brisbane on the hottest day for years, to arriving back in Melbourne. Where it was pouring rain.

Not quite as bad, but you get my point.

Than again, I live in Melbourne. "Four seasons in a day" and all that jazz.

Random: On this lab computer, for some reason the " and @ symbols have to pressed the other way round (Ctrl ' for @ and Ctrl 2 for "). Weird.

Date: 2005-10-25 06:44 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Do you get much snow in Melbourne, though? I thought it was mainly Tazzie that'd get the snow. It's not really winter without it, anyhoo.

How... informative.

Date: 2005-10-25 06:48 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com
Um, No. No snow in Melbourne. If we do, it's severly newsworthy, and has normally fanished by the end of the day.

By your standards, obviously we don't have winter. Wish it was true...

Hey, it was just really weirding me out. And I don't know how they did it. I am intriuged by this keyboard. What other mysteries might it hold?

Date: 2005-10-25 07:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Ah. Yeah, I thought it was a bit too north for snow (and saying that is so weird. Freaky southern hemisphere...) So really, you just have autumn by our standards, which can be a bugger in itself. Mmm, cold winds and rain...

A word genie?

Date: 2005-10-25 07:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com
You might call it autumn, but for us it is bloody well winter!

And I don't think there are many places (excpet up in the mountains) that get a lot of snow in the winter.

What, you think I should rub the keyboard, and hope for three wishes?

Date: 2005-10-25 07:53 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Yeah, but you don't count, you weird un-temperate zone people :P

Couldn't hurt. You never know.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com
I cannot help which climate zone I live in, thank you very much.

And I just worry about the looks I'll get from other people in the computer labs.

From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Doesn't stop me finding it weird :P

Dare to look stupid!

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com
Are you impugning my climate zone, madam?

And I can't, really, because I'll need to be off in a minute so I can get to dinner.

Date: 2005-10-25 08:30 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Yes.

Excuses, excuses. Though that does remind me I want food.

Mmm... weather...

From: [identity profile] sinneahtes.livejournal.com
Pouring rain here, which makes me glad to live on top of a hill. But Connecticut will have its fair share of snow later, and then I'll regret living on top of a hill.

Snow or rain, snuggling up in one's pajamas and reading a good book/watching a good TV show while sipping some hot chocolate sounds very lovely right now...

Oh yeah. Sadly, I can't, since I actually have stuff to do. Whee.

You and your weather love :P

Ah, snow.

I think I will be watching eagerly for every memtion of ice and snow, here in Miss Cam's world, as we head into summer and 40 degree days...

From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Well, the British meterologists are proclaiming it'll be a damn cold winter, so you may be in luck ;)

I remember the summers of Brisbane. Yowza.

*is intrigued*

You spent time in Brisbane? In summer?

It is very nice, it's just a bit...overwhelming.

Date: 2005-10-25 11:40 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
I lived in Brisbane for two years, my dear. Went to UQ. I know Brisbane and summer very well.

Date: 2005-10-25 11:44 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cantralian.livejournal.com
Okay - that is so cool!

Wow - and you went back to the ice and snow. That's amazing.

It is a small world, isn't it? I almost went to UQ, but ended up at QUT, just 'cause it was closer to home.

I sometimes post Brissie photos on my LJ - if there's anything you want me to take a photo of, let me know and it shall be done:-)

From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
I did. I'm Norwegian, I belong in Norway. Simple as that. Though if my country ever went boom, Australia and Brisbane would top the list of where I'd want to go. Good times, good times.

Heh. I had several friends at QUT. We did our 17th of May celebrations there too.

Well, if you're ever in Toowong, I'd love to see if it's still the same. That's where I lived. The Subway there was my longtime companion.

Now you made me miss it. Sniff.

Bah.

It'll have to give in eventually, before Nynaeve kicks its ass.

Yes, her temper will definitely provide us with a decent Autumn's storm soon enough, I'm sure. Until then, though, the weather forecasts will proceed to be 19-20 Centigrade with a decent amount of sunshine.

It has snowed here. I have pictures.

::looks out window:: Kinda foggy this morning...

Maybe you need Hobbit feet, no socks ever.

Heh. So do I, yay.

Clearly I do. I keep hoping my feet will take the hint and evolve.

Heh, yeah, but it's a bit more of an event here when it snows :)

This is what happens when I move south... the snow turns into rain. It's been raining practically all day here. Regn, regn, regn, regn... øsende regn... pøsende regn... Regn, regn, regn regn...

It's the same result in the end - I get wet, cold and possibly sick and die..

Date: 2005-10-25 03:50 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Not to exagerate or anything, huh?

But I don't envy you the rain, nope.

Snø, snø, snø, fem timer i strekk.

Minus a few more degrees here and it would be snowing. Since it's too warm, it's just pain rain. *cries* It's so ugly out!
