Curses!

That just about sums up my last two days - first, the boss pleads with me to come in on a day off and I agree (since hey!, money!) and then I come home to find out a worm has moved in on my computer and I spend a good hour tossing it out. Then I spent an hour updating every single anti-virus, spyware detecting, hacking tool killing appliance that I have and running them all. My computer is now free - free! - and woe betide the next worm that tries something. Also, I decided to go silver-theme instead of standard blue.

My house-elf revealed herself, it seems. [livejournal.com profile] aervir wrote me this lovely Nine/Rose in Norway tale. If you're Doctor Who minded, do give it a read. I have gotten a few more gifts as well, expect a squee-post soon.

White House changes its mind, now back 'ban on torture' law

My, my. That's almost enough to make me not hate Bush today. Almost.

Finally, [livejournal.com profile] drakyndra's dare - a fic starring her and David Tennant. She gets what I could write in twenty minutes.

****

"David!"

Oh no, he had time to think. Here we go again. Brown hair under the hat and round face, the look on her face the same as everyone else. Utter delight at seeming him. He wasn't sure he'd ever get used to that.

"Hello!" he said cheerfully, because it was after all was what expected.

"David Tennant," the girl breathed. "Could you...?"

"Yes, of course," he replied, taking the offered paper. It really was quite odd that these 'fans' kept wanting a scrap of paper with a name scribbled on. He couldn't quite see the value in it. Paper didn't last very long.

"You about to shoot a scene, then?" the girl asked, looking at it a bit like he was a dish and she was at a resturant.

"Eh... Yes, certainly."

"Oooh. Can you spoil me? Tell me what you're filming?"

He thought for a moment. "Weeell... Don't tell anyone, but we're filming the scene where the TARDIS is revealed to be Rose's real mother."

The girl looked a lot mroe puzzled when she walked away, and he congratulted himself a bit. Really, this time on Earth had been very educational.

The trailer door opened and David stuck his head out, looking bemused. "Another fan for you, Doctor?"

"Another fan for you!" the Doctor countered. "I thought you invited me to get a better grip on the my character, not to give me a better grip on yours!"

David had the sense to look slightly guilty. "But you deal with all the fans so beautifully. Well, maybe expect for all those fake spoilers you keep spreading... So far, the TARDIS is Rose's mother, the TARDIS hits an iceberg and sinks, the Master comes back as a giant flaming eyeball, Rose gets kidnapped by a giant gorilla, the Doctor gets bitten by a mutated spider and develops super powers... Anything I've forgotten?"

"Rose and the Doctor chat online, not knowing who the other is, falls in love and..."

"Yeah, yeah. I think maybe we won't watch more movies this time..."

****

And yes, I know I still have dares to do. I shall get to it.

Kill the worms and viruses, kill them DED! Sometimes, I really wonder what would happen to my laptop if I didn't sit behind several firewalls in a university LAN...

And thanks for pimping my Christmas gift! :)

Last but not least -- the Doctor spreading false spoilers in the guise of David Tennant. Heh! Maybe he should start working for one of those British tabloids. :D

They're certainly evil little things, yes. We hates them, precious.

Least I could do. It was shiiiiny.

I'm sure the stories he'd make up would be no worse than what's already in those papers. Sheesh.

"Sometimes, I really wonder what would happen to my laptop if I didn't sit behind several firewalls in a university LAN..." Isn't it obvious? It would rise up and devour your soul. *nods* Happened to me.

News! News!

Last night I taped an excellent show you may be interested in: American Dad. It's a cartoon about a obsessively conservative CIA agent with a wife, two children, a goldfish with the brain of a German and a gay, daytime-TV loving alien. (Really. Seth MacFarlene, the guy who made it, has a thing for four normal people, two wierd people in his shows.)

I have no idea whether it's out in Norway or not, or if it will get there at all, but if you can rent it sometime next decade or summat I'm sure you'd like it. It's surprisingly good, for an American show.

Futurama is good too, but that's mostly because of all the 'killbot' jokes.

P.S.: I would really, really like to see the Doctor be bitten by a radioactive spider. Because a time travelling Spiderman would make geeks around the world cheer.

Come to think of it, considering Spiderman's wearing a skin-tight suit, it'd probably make fangirls cheer as well...

P.P.S.: Am I the only one to detect a hint of slashiness in this? No? And I have a relatively clean mind, for Athiar-The-Big-Furry-Cube-God-Of-Athiesm's sakes.

Skin-tight suit costume for the Doctor? Oh dear. The drooling would just never end.

And so far you are the only one, so hah.
