New Life at 84, Huh?
Dec. 19th, 2005 04:38 amMissing 84-year-old Polish grandfather found at Heathrow looking for a new life
Mr Zon, from the small central town of Znin, spent years saving from his 600-zloty ($186; £105) monthly pension to raise $3,000 for the trip, he said.
"Granddad had never travelled farther than the neighbouring village," granddaughter, Malgorzata Kocinska, told the paper.
Mr Zon knows no-one in Britain and cannot speak English, but his experience has not dented his enthusiasm for the country.
"In my long lifetime, no-one had ever been as polite to me as the English, and who knows if I won't return," he said.
I'm torn between feeling a bit sad and quite touched at this story. Imagine trying to find a better life for yourself at 84, saving up quietly for a chance to it... And go English, being polite.
Tired from work (I even fell asleep duing the biathlon, oh horrors!), so maybe this amused me more than it should - Peter Rabbit, Tank Killer - found via this wank.

Aww, cute prince!
