And now for the post with something of substance... Sort of.

[livejournal.com profile] geekfiction is holding a smut-a-thon. Am tempted to sign up, even if I've been a bit blah about writing CSI fics of late. Hmm, decisions, decisions. Fic-a-thons are fun, unless the request you get is fairly hopeless. But most of the time you can get something fun out of it anyhoo. (Has Doctor Who fandom had any, really?)

Then again, it sometimes also means more badfic. Sniff. I want goodfic. (I should get my ass in gear and write some myself. Hmm-hmm.)

Mum finally dragged me to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire yesterday. Was okay. The actors sure have sprouted quite a bit. (Neville is looking cute. Heh. I adore Neville. He's the only one I go 'no no' at the thought of dying.) Voldemort made me mostly yawn, though. Was not impressed. David Tennant was a nice Barty Crouch jr, even if I kept waiting for him to knock Snape out with the sonic screwdriver.

I also saw Narnia recently. Nostalgia deluxe. But it was okay. Quite enjoyed it, even with Marius whispering in my ear during the whole final battle about how wrong the tactics were and how you'd really win that battle and so forth. Tumnus was just adorable. Very good talking animals too. Shall definitely cough up the money for the DVD when the time comes.

Cat Calls 911?

Phenomenon spotted in Oslo and elsewhere in Norway today - looks like three suns shining down. It's ice crystals up in the troposphere breaking the sunlight that does it. Pretty neat, eh? And meanwhile, the setting sun is making the snow almost look faint purple here. Beautiful.

There are days when I really, really love this planet of ours.

*Sighs* Beautiful picture indeed.

Makes me wish I was there... Wait... it's cold there...

Nevermind. But that's very beautiful.

DW ficathon? Yep. Here. Some of them are even pretty good. (Did I go a-trawling for fic, four days into the fandom? Yes. Yes I did. Am I obsessed? ...Stupid question.)

Radcliffe was not too bad in this movie. As in, actually had more than four facial expressions. I was pleasantly surprised. My friend in the HP fandom--whom I natter at constantly about DW--was very amused when I told her about Tennant playing Barty Crouch Jr.

Cat love! Hee.

Jaysus, but that photo is gorgeous.

Hehehe. *pats* You're in good company, though. And that list even had fics I hadn't read. Excellent.

Yeah, all the kids seemed to have improved, really. Mum adores the twins. I think she'd watch a whole movie just with them.

:)

I know. Yay. *waves flag*

Oh, the twins. Everyone loves the twins. The twincest fics are going to skyrocket after this movie--although have you seen the pictures of the actors holding up signs that say "Twins agains twincest!"? Best ever.

I have seen it. As I recall, there was wank about it.

...There's wank about everything in the HP fandom, isn't there? --Yes, that was a rhetorical question.

I don't know, personally I found it hilarious. They actually seemed to take it pretty well.

Yes, but some people were outraged they were subjected to it and what-not. But yes, there's wank about everything in the HP fandom. It's the wank fountain.

Finally, someone agrees with me about GoF. I was rather bored throughout. Voldemort looked like a fish.

Aww, I loved Tumnus in Narnia too. Was a cute movie.

Hum, didn't see the sun today, sounded cool though.

Wow. Here in the U.S., they call the two spots on either side "sundogs". We don't get them in L.A., but I once saw them nearly that bright in Chicago one very cold winter morning.

My first thought was, "Cool! She has a friend named Marius who does stuff like that!"

And then I was like, wait, there was that Marius of Sulla/Marius OTP fame.

And then I thought, wait, I think Cam's demonstrating her coolness of military campaigns.

And then I wrote this comment, and then I was seized with doubt about whether posting it would be a good thing or bad, in case I was wrong.

But then I thought, "Hey, she could clarify, or something."

Marius is my brother. And yes, he does stuff like that. He's an avid reader of military literature - ancient and otherwise.
