Generated from dark_aegis's and my discussion on my LJ, I hereby declare this coming week: Goodfic Appreciation Week. With the plethora of bad!fic being generated recently in the Doctor Who fandom, we really need some means of getting some good and decent fics pimped out to the world. Therefore, here I'm just going to say, pimp out your favourite Good Fics, share the joy, spread the love, and avoid the desire to claw your eyes out from stories such as 'The Doctor is Rose's love child.' Want less badfic? Encourage more goodfic!

Actually, I was thinking about something related to fanfic - 'Featured Author of the Week', where a picked author would get asked various questions by whoever wants to ask them, really. There used to be something like it on YTDAW, and I was thinking maybe Who fandom would like it too. Is one way to get a little attention as author, and for the readers to get to ask stuff they've always wondered. What do people think?

Hmmm...perhaps a new LJ com? Or else just a website or something? There'd also have to be some means of figuring out who to actually talk to, figuring out what questions to ask, blah, blah, blah. It requires pondering, indeed.

A comm could work, I suppose, and it does allow for comments with questions to be added easily and replied to. And really, it would be most fun if it's open to questions from whoever wants to ask.

Wow - first of all, I'm awed to see you've chosen my story as your first recommendation in this 'week'. Terrific idea, apart from that, but thank you so much for recommending mine. :)))

I like that Featured Author too. In fact, we did that on and off in the Lois and Clark fandom - on and off because you do run out of authors from time to time. Here's our Writers' Showcase - I'm in there, though it's a very old interview, and I appear again in the Where Are They Now link (yes, I've been in that fandom a long time...).

A lot of fandoms do it, it seems. I got featured on YTDAW, and it was quite a fun experience. It's a way to get to know people a bit and have some fun, too.
