Yo, Americans!
Jan. 12th, 2006 11:34 pmIf any of you are still curious about Doctor Who and haven't had the chance to check it out - It's going to be airing on Sci Fi channel starting March.
(BBC marks this with this rather hilarious front page. Oh, BBC. Let me love you so more for your silliness.)
Seriously - it's a great show and pretty please give it a chance? *bats eyelashes*
And this might even mean Americans will finally get the Bush - "don't you think he looks tired?" and spread it like whoa.
I am pleased.

Date: 2006-01-12 10:51 pm (UTC)But I'm almost even more pleased to hear that Pro7, a German TV station, bought the rights for the new Who series and intends to broadcast it some time this year. Yay!

Date: 2006-01-12 10:56 pm (UTC)Go on, Americans. Get addicted.

Date: 2006-01-12 11:00 pm (UTC)Apart from the fact that the German dubbing is probably going to suck... I'm a great supporter of subtitles/stereo channel broadcasts myself.

Date: 2006-01-12 11:14 pm (UTC)Wonder if they'll do the whole Northern thing then...

Date: 2006-01-12 11:22 pm (UTC)Now that would only work if they made Nine speak Plattdütsch (regional variety spoken in Northern Germany, especially the coastal areas) and Rose Bavarian dialect. Or maybe not...
*shudders*

Date: 2006-01-12 11:14 pm (UTC)The DVDs are shiny, though. And they do mean you can watch the eps again and again and again...

Date: 2006-01-12 11:29 pm (UTC)And I must say that Christopher Eccleston (I probably misspelled that) is kind of attractive at times. But in the looks department I think I prefer Doctor Eight and Ten.

Date: 2006-01-13 06:11 am (UTC)You spelt it right - and to each their own taste. I prefer Nine, though Ten is also shaggable.

Date: 2006-01-12 11:54 pm (UTC)Oh dear. Do I really need a new fandom? I mean, so many of the people on my f-list love Doctor Who, so I'm bound to like it. *frets*

In a smarter country, that line might do some justice, but somehow I think the majority of people moronic enough to vote for him twice will never get it. Actually, it seems more likely that they’d take offense to Harriet Jones’s line and start a “War on BBC”. *Rolls eyes* But hey, here’s hoping!

Date: 2006-01-13 04:59 pm (UTC)As for half the country voting for the dunce currently inhabiting the WH, it's actually less. 1/3rd don't even bother to vote at all. I'm so sad for my country's lack of citizen participation in even the most basic of rights.

Date: 2006-01-15 09:08 am (UTC)I'm glad that's it's finally going to be in America, but I don't have the Sci-Fi channel because the 'rents won't get cable.
This aggravates me more than it probably should.
