Hey, any DW writers wanting to do a fic easter egg exchange? Could be a fun lead-up to the new series, and also, if there was any particular kind of fic you'd so wanted to see, you could request it. (Like a kinderegg - ask for three things.) I'd be willing to do a few for people on my flist, anyhoo.

Apparently, calling the Grissom/Sofia pairing GSR is abuse of the Grissom/Sara pairing. Or something. Okay, so stumbling across the wrong pairing can be a bit annoying when you're looking for something in particular, but I don't think there's actually trademark protection for CSI shipnames. (If there were, I'd so want to work there, just so I could tell people they weren't approved for being utterly idiotic names. I like my pleasures bitchy sometimes, what can I say.)

Have I mentioned yet how happy I am the Doctor/Rose ship hasn't been named something cutesy like "DoRo" or "RoDo"? Because I very much am.

Ooops. I know how that feels - I went into Oslo for a trip some years back, walked out of the train station and came face to face with the University covered in Nazi flags. Plus people in military garb of the time, so I was all "WTF? Did I just time travel there?" for a moment, until I realised they were shooting for a series on Knut Hamsun.

Link I got from redscharlach - Viking! (A Romance Novel) I still haven't stopped laughing at the excerpt. The author has also written "The Very Virile Viking" and "My Fair Viking" and oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I've seen native Americans as a romance fetish before, as well as the "Orient", but Vikings? My pillaging, mead-drinking, beserking forefathers? Okay then! (Then again, shouldn't be surprised. People - including me - also fancy Scots. I've sworn to shag one before I die. Kilt is optional. The accent is not.)

On an odd note - these last two weeks I've had like seven reviews on "Moonlight", a one-shot I wrote in 2001 set in the Zelda-verse. What's with all these sudden reviews? Did someone rec it somewhere or something? Very odd.

Hey, I hadn't even heard of Dani Levy's most recent film project before; so, if I had happened to go to Berlin for some reason, I would probably have freaked out, too, at the sight of swastika banners galore.

But then, it would only take a few of those flags to turn Munich into a film setting for a Nazi movie. It's simply unbelievable how many pseudo-monumental Third Reich buildings tare still around, simply because it was way cheaper after the war to let them stand and reuse them for another purpose. Well, if they ever decide to do that here, I hope we'll get a proper warning in time...

And I think an easter egg fic exchange for Doctor Who is a neat idea! Not only for the egotistical reason that my birthday will be on Good Friday this year; thus taking part will be for me almost the same as getting a belated birthday surprise. ;)

Also in the "sex is bad! Let's outlaw it!" category, there's a bill in Tennessee which is trying to outlaw the sale, use and "exhibition"--whatever the frell THAT is--of dildos.

The proponents don't seem very clear on what a dildo is; they seem to think that it will destroy family values, and that's enough for them. Because God forbid that women be able to get any sexual satisfaction without a man.

I got into Doctor Who when a Norwegian TV channel picked up the revived 2005 series (which is now going to be broadcasted in the US on scifi starting March 17th.) It's a great show, so if you ever have a chance of seeing it, take it. (Though the Britishness of intentional cheese of it can take a little bit of getting used to.)
