misscam- Many fandoms I've bene in - but what have I been in fandom? Hum. Star Trek? Bit of a brat. Also, teenager. Water Rats? Less of a brat, bit of the trying-too-hard. LotR? Kinda BNF-y. CSI? Vaguely known in some circles, mostly fanfic writing in peace. Doctor Who? Mean girl and fanfic writer? Hum. I guess we'll see how DW fandom goes, but I've definitely grown more bitter old fandom hag-y.
- Fandom is like high school, they say - but what does that make me, given that in Norway, we don't have high school and I went to Lower and Upper Secondary School instead?

cincoflex in a chat room together, and you apparently get conversations about how Grissom would attempt to woo Sara with bug porn, and then act out the mating ways of them creepy crawlies. Okay then. Does this say disturbing things about my mind or hers, I wonder... - There are few things that can get as wanky as fanfic awards. I have been nominated for a few in my years of writing, and I've been flattered and tried not to make a big deal out of it. Because while winning = good for ego, becoming an obsessive pretensious dick about it and realising it = bad, bad for ego and PR. So, am I dreading or looking foward to Doctor Who fanfic awards this year? (If there are any - I bet there will be.) Hmm, decisions, decisions.
- I really can be a bitch to get to know and I'm not the greatest at making an effort at getting to know others. Norwegian reserve or plain old laziness? Or habit from LotR fandom?
- lotus79 and I can have the WTF conversations like no one else.
- Is it just me or does the level of reviews in DW fandom seem a bit low at the moment? Might be the lull waiting for season two, I suppose. Still - reviews are love. Give an author some love today. (And by that I don't mean just give praise.)
- Why do I want to smack CSI fandom so bad sometimes? Did it grow more silly or did I grow more grumpy? Where did the love go? Did shipper wars kill it? Or am I just fickle? Am I the fandom flirt that ever moves on?
- It's sad how much I love people who make icons or other fanart for me (*snuggles rainyd some*). Shiiiiinies! I should be ashamed at my shallowness. Or not.
Wants Tennant and Eccleston plastered all over layout with the hotness and snogging of Rose both and argh stop - I must be such a pain to get into an argument with. Hoo boy. Also, my ability to hold grudges must be annoying. Then again, once I like you, I like you. And give you weird nicknames with insults in them, because that's how you like someone in Northern Norway.
- LJ-defriending really is the new social snug and Dramatic Geture, innit? Also, wank bringer. Thus it seems fitting that the only one I really defriended for other reason than being defriended by he or she first (I friend people who friend me, I defriend people who defriend me. Logical for me) is Thalia, who I did get all wanky over. OhNOES.
- Spreading f-locked material, not cool. *nods sagely* Then again, I should stick to my principles and always bitch in public. Yay.
- For all my talk of the porn and getting vaguely insulted for writing "thinly veiled soft porn based on a science fiction theme", I sure get boringly non-explicit in fanfic.
- I have enough fanfics I have vaguely on the writing agenda if I wasn't going to have a plot bunny for "Ten Things Rose Tyler Unlearned About Romance", a vaguely companion piece to "Ten Lessons...". Ack.
- Sometimes, I want to cry "LOVE ME LOVE ME NOOOOOOW" at everyone. Then I love myself a little if I resist it.
- I really like Blackpool more than I like Casanova. But either way, David Tennant = shaggable. Christopher Eccleston = also shaggable. Cam = ogler.
- Every time someone bashes Ten for not being Nine, I want to write Ten shagging Rose like whoa. Every time I read a snotty remark on how C/W is less of a ship than GSR on YTDAW, I want to write Catherine and Warrick actually have a working relationship. Every time I read Gimli being bashed, I want to write Gimli kicking everyone's ass. Every time I read overly-fluffy Jack/Rose/Nine, I want to write dysfuctional Jack/Rose/Ten. Every time Tazzer types anything at all, I want to write GSR. Clearly, I like to strike back with fanfic. Or maybe I'm just contrary.

Whovians have always bashed the new Doctor for not being the old Doctor. Whovians always will bash the new Doctor for not being the old Doctor. Hell, I'd worry about the fandom if it suddenly stopped bitching about the new Doctor not being the old Doctor.
You'll see. It'll happen with Eleven, too. Teh Dramah will never cease until 11 settles down and all is Doctor Who again. It happens every single time.
It's a large reason for my "Never judge a Doctor by his Regeneration Story" rule of thumb. 'Cause the RegenEp is almost always amoung the weakest of any given Doctor's* run.
Christ, listen to me. You'd think I'm a Lifelong Oldschooler......wait, I am. Uh-oh...
Anyway, the basic point is, this is utterly normal for Whodom, so pretty much just get used to it. It helps to point and laugh.
