misscam: (Dawn Is Ever Hope)
[personal profile] misscam
As Alexander Kielland put it, and I now translate - "Don't give up hope! Life is the shits, but don't give up hope"

I hear you there, my dead man.

I, too have been optimistic and mellow lately...beats the hell out of me why, but beats being stressed.

The air of spring?

No, today it's like the snow of spring meeting the sleet of spring and combining to kill the one intrepid crocus that had showed up outside my dorm. But it's okay....everything's good.

More or less how I've been feeling lately.

But that quote does give me hope, somehow.

A mellow dalek, eh? Don't see many of those.

*yawns*

At least early work isn't too busy. Soon I will want to stab people with icepicks though, I'm sure. ;)

I bet the Daleks are mellow all the time, they just hide it to look more impressive.

Hee. Three hours to go, and I now have 20 minutes off.

Still haven't decided if I like that break format, though.

And then I saw next week's roster. *cries* I don't want that many hours!

I'd rather have time to sleep and eat and finish uni assignments. :(

I'm just worried I'll snap under that stress and get myself fired, really. *mopes*

2 hours to go and no more breaks. Boo. Plus I have to catch the bus home cos I left my lights on and flattened my car battery.

Oooh, Kielland's the man... :D

"Mensa Rotunda," said Little Marius, and died. OMG...

Of course, my math teacher and my Latin teacher would argue about what it was that killed Little Marius - was it Latin, or was it math? Ah, the wonder of attending the same school as Kielland.

Heh. My teacher in norsk was a hard-on Kielland fan and delighted in quizzing me on the fellow for my muntlig. Thus, I remember all that stuff to this day.

We put up "Gift" as a play in second grade. "Flere byer i Belgia?" Seeing as it took place at the school, we already had the settings.

We put up a lot of plays in the Norwegian classes, our teacher was fairly hard-on about that. We started in first grade when we transcribed Erlend Loe's "Naiv. Super." into a play. Then second grade with Kielland's "Gift" & Garborg's "Haugtussa" before we topped the entire thing with our Særemnet: putting up Bjørneboe's "Fugleelskerne." Fun times.

How did you do Naiv.Super? That's an interesting book.

I haven't done theatre in so long. Wah.

You could always write "WHOFU*: The Play" and shanghai the groupies nearest you into acting it out in a random public location.
