Ignore the text, you can't read it unless you know Norwegian, but look at the picture of the guy on top of the Saddam Hussein. That, my friends, is the top of the Norwegian (female) handball players (the national team). Number 4, to be exact, from about 1993-95. How the heck did that end up in Iraq? The mind boggles. At least it looks like it's been treated well by its owner.
Speaking of Iraq - reports now of mass plundering, even of hopsitals. Several corrospondents report also that the American forces are doing little to stop it. Rumsfeld says the troops have been ordered to stop plundering when spotted. Other spokespeople have said that the troops need to focus on winning the war, and are not police forces.
So, several aid agencies dare not restart their aid programs, not even emergency aid. Red Cross is greatly alarmed by the situation in Baghdad, apparently. Order needs to be restored to Iraq fast, or we may look at a great catastrophe.
Poor Iraqis. If I were religious, I'd be praying for them. As it is, I can only hope and wish.
