Dear fundies whose drivel I read today,

since when am I your enemy for disagreeing with you on a particular issue? And reading about how to "trick" people into joining your side and eventually come to see the truth of "human personhood starts at conception" is not doing you any favours either. Nor is calling it an "abortion war". I'll give you that it's a tricky ethical issue about what we define as life, but here's a genuine advice for how not to chase away people from your side, as you were so worried about - don't treat the opposing stance people you have to trick, stop sniping from your trenches and get your head out of your arses.

Also, while we're at it, I don't care if homosexuality is caused by genetics, lifestyle, upbringing, having fish for dinner before conception, hormonal mix-up or what toys you played with as kids - they still deserve exactly the same rights as I do. And if your only argument for them not getting those rights is that homosexuality can't be proven to be caused by genes (which would mean there is no choice at play and you're so fond of that choice, aren't you), I rather do pity you. Because you're not getting it, are you? We're all humans, straight, bi or gay. You don't stop falling in love just because the one you fall for is of the same gender. You don't magically stop wanting to spend the rest of your life with someone because you're gay. Love is love. Why should you be denied expressing it, feeling it, just because your genes are a particular way, your parents raised you a particular way, your hormones got a bit cross-wired? Maybe it doesn't follow your particular moral standard, but there's a reason we're not all forced to live by one person's particular moral standard. It's called freedom. It's called human rights. It's called *staying the fuck out of other people's private life*.

Now I'm kicking you out of mine. Bye-bye!

No love today,
Cam

Ahem. I might've gotten a bit worked up there.

On the bright side, had the most awesome feedback EVA and am tempted to stick it up here and just watch it all day. [livejournal.com profile] drakyndra, I so owe you a gazillion things for causing Rob Shearman to read my fanfic, because wow... *incoherent noise of obnoxious joy*

And I'm impressed 62.3% of you flist lot would do the Tenth Doctor. 11.5% thinks I should stop making puns. Now that is very sad. I feel crushed. (Statistics are fun, aren't they?)

Meanwhile, my dear Nick/Sara shippers, "They SO want each other" on pictures of Jorja and George being cute? Don't you start with the actor-characters confusion too, plz. Fandom's being wanky enough as it is.

Also, US administration, spare me this kind of pressure crap on Norway again. You were doing some of that same dance of 'might damage relations' pushy shit before the Iraq war and Norwegian opinion of the US administration *plummeted* and we didn't do what you wanted at all. Do you just not learn, or something? I stick a certain finger mightily in your direction.

*watches news and waits for news on whether or not Norway will have massive strikes starting this morning*

Oh, and thanks for the gift, [livejournal.com profile] slm4gsr

On the subject of feedback, Rob read my Doctor Who smut too, and then said nice things to me. I am both terrified and squeeful.

Oh yes.

According to Nos, this makes me a BNF. Or something.

I guess I'm one too, then. Or something.

*shakes head* Fandom's so weird at times.

I wonder if he would write pr0n for us. And make it canon.

Or better yet, you and Cam can write canon!smut.

Corrupting the fandom, one person at a a time. Sounds like a plan.

I went to the poll on the link, and was directed to Ten's pant-fastening thread. Between staring at that and the tongue icons (I've seen so many, I just might recognize it) , I weep for my lost innocence. Who-dom is so very subversive...in a scarily fascinating way :p

US's global weapon selling while threatening diplomatic relations really speaks badly of the government, and the businesses that have such a sway over it. They do it all over the world, even selling retired war machines at exorbitant prices. In my worse moments, I think it's just as well science and math education in US plummeted, since apparently the primary reason for concern cited by some is "military superiority."

/end random rant

We're perverted, clearly. Heh.

It's really annoying when they're being so pushy. If they're so keen on democracy, they shouldn't be trying to influence democratic choices so much. STFU and let up pick what *private* contractor we want ourselves.

regarding the fundies, I don't think you got worked up enough. I mean, you didn't even threaten them with lutefisk...

note to my country, re: JSF jets: Quit being a bunch of wankers. I'm already seriously thinking of leaving the country for good, you're just making me want to leave faster.

Waste of a good lutefisk. I need my lutefisk for greater tasks.

Yes, they do in winter, when they can't find as much food in the forests. Naughty things.

Hilarious poll. :D

I for one would be interested in reading what he had to say, but I appreciate you might feel a tad awkward posting it.

Regarding your open letter to fundies..you sound so civil and..and..not aggressive. I must refer to siraj's post: where's the lutefisk?
