CSI wank and HP wank

Wow, that 'it's all a DREAM' theory of GSR never dies, does it?:
Guys, the more I think about it, the more I really think we've been had as far as the season finale is concerned.
Look at the following
1. WP's apparent contradictions to what he has said in the past
2. Nearly identical media statements (sounds like something out of gymnastics when the USSR was around)
3. Media control right after the ep airs - Come on, cliffhangers are designed to tick people off. Most of the time producers just sit back and watch everyone have conniption fits. Why speak out on it unless you want to make sure there's only one theory everyone will have?
4. The whole unreality feeling of the scene. Looked identical to Nick's nightmare on Grave Danger.
5. Romantically pairing two characters ALWAYS kills a series.
I think the scene is going to be someone's dream and the whole reason the producers are making a big deal is because they don't want people suspecting. The classic cliffhanger - making it look like a character is about to die - no longer really scares anyone. So, CSI always wants to be different, so, let's scare the audience half to death by making it look like two characters are getting together. And everything Carol has been saying is just a smokescreen to get more people to fall for it. Of course, I don't think they quite expected the vehemence of our responses...
Seriously - I really think it's a safe bet to assume that whole last scene was a nightmare.
It's all like a bad fanfic committing Saracide:
Whose idea was it to take such a great character and diminish him to a fanfic hero to fit the mate TPTB had chosen for him. And why, in goddess name did Billy go along with it? Admittedly, in a post show TV interview he claimed he backed the idea the day after the finale, looking as if someone was holding a gun to his head.(...)
This is what I think poor Grissom is about to do sometime during Season Seven. I'm wondering if the Grissomologists among us couldn't somehow set up a Saracide Prevention Hotline just for him. I think he's going to need it. We can take turns as volunteers and put in some training time so we'll know what to say when:
A. She catches him making eye contact with Sofia, who accidentally, as a police officer enters a crime scene with him still on the premises.
B. He mistakenly (?) takes Catherine with him to a scene, assigning Sara to Nick and she ends up dissecting a Mercedes in the lab garage.
C. She finds an e-mail from Lady Heather on his computer asking what he'd like in the way of an after-hours activity — if he can't get awayk,, that is.
D. Dr. Teri Miller leaves a message on his answering machine: "Hey, Gil, I finally divorced that boring teacher. How about lunch."
E. He just calls and says, "I've reached the end of my rope with that woman and I'm sitting here making a hangman's noose. Please say 'Stop!!!!"
The raises the question: By then will we still care that much? Hope so.
Meanwhile, the GSR crowds hear speculation of killing off Sara and many are not pleased:
I would be royally pissed off if they killed Sara. I mean finally Grissom and her get together and then what, at the end of next season they'll kill her off and totally destroy him. Wow, that would be pretty shitty in my opinion.
But hey, I'm ALL for killing Spork. (...)
So my revised guess is either NEITHER will leave or BOTH will leave one way or the other.. or maybe together off into the sunset. So either Sara dies and Grissom leaves because he can't handle it. Grissom dies and Sara leaves or they both leave together UNDEAD [Zombie!GSR for the win - Cam ed.]... or they both die together THAT would be one hell of a story and actually easier to take then one being gone, leaving the other behind. (...)
Is there anything we can do to stop this (the possible death of Sara) from happening? I know it is just speculation at this point, but did someone really here that tptb are throwing the idea around? How is this fair? (I know--life isn't fair, but still). GSR is finally canon, but the price we have to pay is the death of one of our favourite characters. If that's the case, it wasn't worth it.(...)
Geez, all this talk about death, especially Sara's is just insane. How can anyone who loves these two characters (and actors) even say their names and death in the same sentence?!?
Snickers are upset about rumorus about new characters being introduced:
Are TPTB actually considering bringing in MORE characters? They've lost their minds! How much you wanna bet one of them is a love interest for Nick? There better not be some skank ho trying to get all up on Sara's man! Theyre gonna have to throw down or something...(...)
I heard the rumor was they are bringing in Jessica Simpson for Nick I HOPE not If so I definetly wont watch the show anymore
but Please lets all remember right now all these things are ARE just rumors
I wont believe them till they actually see them (...)
we were talking about it at imdb and i hope it's not true, nothing against J.S but she is a sucky actor and she is so wrong for the show, and if they did put her with nick i bet i would cry becasue thats just wrong, anything but J.S i think nick shoulf find a girl who believs strongly in womens rights, she is about 5'11" is a brunette and rhymes with KARA not a bubbly blond
A GSRer has figured out opposites and attraction:
I agree. The two of them (Grissom and Sara) are so much alike that shipper or not, you just have to go- "Those two should really get together" at one point while watching the show. I mean, I know how the saying goes... that "opposites attract" but when you think about it opposites really don't attract. People are attracted to people who are exactly like them. Sure they may go for the opposite (Lady Heather) now and then, but they always head on back to the people they're most alike with (Sara)
Fanfics fight back:
"I'm not ready to say goodbye." Sara said, kneeling next to her bed. She looked at the man laying there in front of her and expected to feel overwhelmed with some kind of emotion. But she didn't feel anything but pity for Grissom at that moment because he was no longer the object of her affection.
She stood and retreated into her bathroom. Just before she closed the door she addressed her supervisor, "I may not be ready, but I have to say goodbye to you Grissom, you can let yourself out."
Meanwhile, I am still boggling over the tale of MsScribe and there are still six chapters to go. Holy mother of socks. This is like an insanely addictive fanfic. Wow. I shouldn't be surprised at the things people do to get attention in fandom, but this one is... Yeah.
See CSI fandom, you have a lot to live up to still.
I should probably start preparing myself to cover Doctor Who wank as well. Oh yes. That is, if people are even interested.

Date: 2006-06-17 11:28 am (UTC)As I said to someone on my LJ, when you retreat to the Doctor Who fandom for sanity, you know there's some serious crazy going down.
But covering the Doctor Who stuff would be fun. We're gearing up for wankpocalypse at the end of the series, yo.

Date: 2006-06-18 04:57 am (UTC)I know! I kind of boggle that I completely failed to notice any of that going on, what with it all happening when I was active in that fandom. I am, apparently, oblivious. In this case, it's a good thing, because (though I enjoy reading about it now) I tend to flinch from the batshit crazy and getting involved in wank. Fun to observe, terrible to participate in (or that could just be me).
"That is, if people are even interested."
Reading about wank is one of my guilty pleasure, so I know that I am.
