Date: 2006-06-22 09:33 pm (UTC)And I'm totally with you on the Italy front. I reckon half the reason the game against the USA was so physical was because the US players knew the Italians would fall over as soon as they looked at 'em anyway, so they'd figured they may as well give them a reason!

Hopeful los ganadores for tomorrow: Korea Republic, Spain, and Ukraine. I want to see some major Swiss ass kicking. I have nothing against the Swiss though, so if Togo miraculously beats France so the Swiss can go on, that's okay with me too. Sorry Switzerland, but it's Korea.

My dad is an absolute football/soccer nut so he recorded the game. I was supposed to be revising for my administrative law exam that morning, but I ended up watching the game instead 0_o That referee was wierd - apparently he have a Croatian player *three* yellow cards, but still didn't send him off.
And everytime I see the smiley-faces on the World Cup logo, it amuses me. For some reason. I mean, who has smiley faces on a football logo?
