OMG France beat Brazil! And it was a deserved win, too. They played a lot better than Brazil - and I say this as someone fond of Brazil. Zidane was just awesome. And then he gave Brazilian players comforting hugs and such afterwards. Good sportsmanship. Pay heed, players involved in the fracas after the Germany - Argentina match.

OMG Doctor Who! Daleks! Oh, I love me some Daleks. Knew it was them the moment the Doctor started talking about the sphere hiding out of time. And yay Mickey! You're looking hot! Jackie was fun too. A lot of it was set-up for the next episode, but set-up I enjoyed, so bring it on, BBC. Not so much 'shippy moments, but I didn't really mind.

OMG I've been given a gen assignment for the Tenth Doctor ficathon. Not sure how great a gen writer I am, but I guess we'll find out. First I'm doing a pitch-hit for the fic exchange of ponygirl72's, anyhoo. That one wanted shipping, so I comply. A tease: "Can I trust you?"

"Trust me for what?" he says, voice almost dangerous. "To bend to your will, your desires, your image? No. To keep you alive with everything I have and can do? Oh yes."

OMG Norwegian Tour prologue win. Course, it feels a bit more blah given all the drug scandals to hit it. Sigh. Me no like cheaters.

Can you believe that there's people celebrating on the streets here? I know Brazil is supposed to be our football archenemy or something, but this feels like a bit much. Meh.

Oh dear. I don't think I would celebrate if Italy lost, but I woukld smirk evilly. Football does rouse passion that isn't just about winning, I guess.

I still don't get what Jackie was going on about, being all sad that Rose would change into someone else. Hello, it's called living. As long as you know who you are...

I dunno, I understood Jackie when she was terrified for Rose's safety. I don't understand why she objects to her daughter moving onwards and upwards; she should know by now the Doctor will do all he can to keep Rose safe.

I think Jackie's fear was that Rose would lose humanity along the way. But parents do tend to worry about their children changing either way. Part of the growing up process for the parent too, me thinks.

...well, see, according to how I define human, Rose would have to cease to be intelligent, self-aware, and possessing of free will in order to stop being human. So I'm still lost.

It just feels like they're re-using themes from last season with this episode and it made me grumpy.

Though I wanted to slap Torchwood, collectively. Seriously, people, would you get pissed off as a child at an adult telling you to keep your hands off the hot stove because you'd get burned and it'll hurt? I mean, god forbid you assume the 900 year plus old alien with the ability to travel through time and space has some idea what he's talking about.

I'm predicting Germany to beat Italy, France to annihilate Portugal and then the final could probably go either way, but with the home advantage will probably be the apparantly unstoppable Germany machine to win.

Yeah, I could see that. France seems to be on rising curve and Portugal hasn't been that impressive. Italy is a tricky, tricky team to beat, but having taken down Argentina, I think Germany can do it.
