*melts*

Too... hot... brain... overheating... *fizz* I am Norwegian, I am not made for strong heatwaves. I am made for wrapping myself in layers and layers of clothes and cursing as I shovel snow, and look pale during decently warm summers.

I want a pool and David Tennant aspool-boy. Yes. Make it so?

Shut up, I can have delusions of groingrandeur.

*uses first of shiny new exclusive icons, yay*

You can, if I can lounge beside that pool with you and David Tennant as your pool-boy.

That sounds like me, except substitute Canadian for Norwegian. The heat we get here in the summer makes me sick. I can't handle the heat - I can handle the cold weather during the winter - albeit with cursing and swearing and wishing for summer to be back, but it's bearable. Cold weather you can dress for, hot as hell weather - well, there are limits as to what you can take off.

And if you get that pool I'm coming for some oggling of the Tennant lounging and cool drinks.

I adjusted to it when I was in Australia, really, but there's something about the way houses are made there versus here and just what you're used to, I think.

I was never really happy in 40 degress Celcious (++), though.

You leech :P

Hey, I'll make the drinks!

It's only 25 C out today for us, but it's been near 40-43 earlier. I'm just loving the Glasgow Winter AC here at work on those days.

Date: 2006-07-06 02:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
I wish I had a blood AC. Argh. It's 32 C here in the shade.

In that case, I will have a cool sangrita.

You're very welcome to come visit me here in Norway in the thick of winter, -20 Celcius, at least a metre of snow and winds, oh yes. We'll see who laughs then.

-50 C. That's my record - with wind chill. Cars do not start at that temperature without intervention. People do not go out without ginormous parkas and thick thick mitts.

From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
I've been in -40, but that was up north. It's so cold any exposed skin at all just hurts.

It's cold winds that are the worst, though. They just work their way into your spine and take a firm grip.

Date: 2006-07-06 02:22 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] evilstorm.livejournal.com
But if I do that, at least I'll be mentally prepped for it. If I'm going voluntarily, I've got less to bitch about. Be an interesting experience, anyway.

Although come think of it, I've never met -20 weather before. Hmmm.

Date: 2006-07-06 02:27 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
You're right, having blue toes is an interesting experience not quite like any other.

-20 is pretty damn cold, trust me.

Date: 2006-07-06 02:31 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] evilstorm.livejournal.com
Yeeeesss, I can imagine.

Oh, I believe you entirely. I get cold enough in above-zero winters, I've got a pretty healthy respect for -20 weather.

I'll just pretend that I haven't been whining about the cold for the last three weeks - where said cold = 21 degrees Celsius.

Level of tolerance in this city runs from precisely 25 C to 27 C, I think.

It can be interesting when the temperature hits 19 or so - everyone hauls out the Himalayan gear. Much pointing and laughing ensues, hypocritically.

Ditto on the overheated Norwegian...

I like warm weather - as opposed to the freezing kind - but warm weather usually tends to mean 15-20 degrees and not 25-30...

From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
I like it around 23-25. You can tan in the sun and the shade is quite comfortable.

We Norwegians always find a way to whinge over the weather, don't we?

I feel your pain...Its around
*does qick conversions*
43 degrees here on average during the summer... but I love it
And whenever it gets to 16-21 C, people start breaking out jackets...
And I dont think its ever reached less than 4 degrees unless it was in the middle of the night on the coldest day of winter.
But then again, its Arizona, and thats how I love it.

Good lord. That's insane. It's been 30-35 C here lately, and I've been whining. It doesn't make me lonesome for the winter temps of -46 or so, though.

I feel your pain, I'm an over-heated Finn in Sweden. We've been having between 35-40 degrees Celsius all week and I'm built for sub-zero temperatures. :dies:

Go and have your pool and your pool-boy.

From: [identity profile] anckyria.livejournal.com
Here's another Finn built for arctic winters. I can handle -20 C without undue difficulty, but +30 C is much more of a challenge. Am currently slathering moisturizer over a crab-red, sunburnt skin...

I feel your heat, I do. We're having bloody tropical heat and the Nordic countries are not tropical at all. We weren't made for this at all.

I've been walking around all day in this crazy heat, headphones in my ears...listening to the Tennant. OMGtheHottttnessThewayhesayscertainwords. That didn't help at all in the 'I'm about to melt department', you can imagine. I grinned like an idiot.

It totally made my day, though. And I kept sending silent 'thank God for the Cam' vibes your way. Hope that helped you cool down a bit, who knows? :)

And don't overheat on the Tennant there.

Right now, it's 25C-and that is excellent for Philadelphia. Usually, we are between 35 and 37C-with 80% (plus) humidity...and I hate it. It's the latent Minnesota genes...

I've been to Minnesota in summer. It was fairly warm at the time, as I recall.

Right now it's about 5 degrees and raining (and I'm suddenly grateful for Tasmanian winters) but if you send some of the warm weather and David Tennant in my general direction I'll be happy to take some of it off you.

I hate disgustingly hot days - it got to 40 degrees once down and here. I do not want to repeat that *shudders*
