I have been flamed by a tinhat.

Well, almost.

I've been posting a bit on the DL_anon board, and in one case commented on one of the DLRer's (the Domlijah people) using her being Swedish as an excuse for sounding 'wooly'. I snarked, mentioning that if she wasn't Swedish, I would throttle her for using said excuse.

Apparently, she took offence.

I got a short e-mail with insults of my IQ and my Norwegianness. I composed a reply, carefully choosing insults. Does she rise to this challenge and finally give me some proper flame action? No. She whines about how mean DL_anon is, how they have 'proof of Domlijah' and closes with 'I'm not sick, you are!'

As maureenlycaon put it: "Yeah, I think you're trying to have a decent duel of wits with an unarmed girl, and it's not working."

And I had such high hopes for this one.

Why not pick on the Swedes? We pick on the Norwegians *all* the time ;-) Of course being Swedish is a truly insulting excuse for being wooly in our humble opinion.

That's what I slammed her for in the first place, actually. She had in her bio this: "I'm a native swede, so I'm sorry if anything I say might sound a bit woolly" to which I said on dl_anon and I quote: "I'm Norwegian, and I don't use that as an excuse for my brain not functioning and being an ass.
If she's not Swedish and just using at an excuse, I'm going to throttle her. Actually, maybe I'll throttle her anyway. I get enough of the 'haha, all Scaninavians are silly and dumb' prejudice without people like her actually encouraging it.
Grrr. And grrrr."

I was standing up for Sweden - well, almost. Even you evil neighbours of Norway don't deserve tinhats ;)

Couldn't agree more, we know Swedes look horrible in tinhats, it's the complexion, you know. And at least we celebrate your national day, well they did last year I think, very embarrassing, since we hardly celebrate our own.

Damnit. I hate it when they give up. I've emailed several authors on how exactly hobbit/elf crosses would happen, and so far I haven't gotten a single response. Damn.
