Think wanky debates over the CSI finale have ended? Far from it.
Sara rode Grissom's magic bus and CSI fandom wanked, part gazillion and half:
What saddens me the most is that, in one episode, in little under 3 minutes you have taken a wonderful show dedicated to bringing out the voices of the unheard, into a chaotic menagerie of who ended up riding Gil Grissom's magic bus.
Other choice comments - thread is sure to grow.
CSI has justified my childhood experience with sexual abuse:
It's sad though cause at one point I really did admire the concept of Gil Grissom, but after he looked at Sara the way he did at the end of " Way To GO " (which by the way Way To Go CSI.. {might have been a wise way to end the show} ), respect an admiration for him was totally lost.
She is old enough to be his daughter, and I know someone who said they didn't care if she was, that she was an adult so she could sleep with him if she wanted to. I don't know where Bill's head is in this, or maybe it's just the name Billy that makes men lust after younger women (hence him being a producer and wanting this), but thanks to the season finale of CSI, I get to relive my own Nesting Dolls, Grissoms not included. (Comes with a Billy - 17 years older - age doesn't matter though)
Thank you Mr. Peterson and all of you at CSI for just verifying what others said about me being wrong, after all if age does not matter then so what if I was 10 and he was 27, and married to my mom. Right? Age doesn't matter after all, is that not what your saying?
A fan has many ideas for storylines for season seven:
gil's quietly going to go to one of several places for treatment
1. a mental health hospital
2. the best VD hospital for serious treatment in San Francisco
3. Loyola Semenary for spirtual and possible becomeing a priest (he's been to hell so he's experienced)
4. mother dies and he really needs to take care of her estate
5. suffers a major heart attack and must stay home to recup.
6. has brain surgery (a lobotomy) with the hopes of removing the horrible nightmares he's been having.
when he comes back in Feb 2007, we can only hope he is cured of that horrible saraidics he somehow caught after six years. saddly like cancer, it wasn't caught in time and cut out. (damn the one series jorja desided not to skip out of after the first year HAD to be this one)
TV GUIDE, the bastion of *Grillows:
The reason why TPTB can not see the polls in places like TV GUIDE and MSN,it's because they know that these polls are not accurate, the same person could vote thousand of times and, actually,TV GUIDE is the ONLY place when people seem to like to see Grissom with Catherine or Lady Heather.
* Catherine/Grissom. See ship names, horrid habit of mushed character names for
In other places
Sleeping with Gil Grissom, the new mental illness:
I think the reason I haven't lost respect for Sara, yet, is because I seriously see this as an instance of mental illness. And you can't be mad at people who don't realize that they are unwell. (...)
for me, it's all part of the obsessive thing. It's a mental illness. You don't just wake up cured from a mental illness. Something has to happen.
So, I don't know. WIll it be seeing Nick with someone else? Seeing herself reflected in another woman's like situation? Grissom doing something tremendously unforgiveable? I have no idea.
SaraSidleStokes advices TPTB:
tptb do have GSR (well cause of WP) BUT NO ONE else wants it (well I should say very few people want it) and the ratings will drop the longer they have it so Personally I think it would be in tptbs best interest to end it and not drag it on
Like I said I think her obsession stems from her childhood I think deep down she's in love with Nick but she's afraid of hurting him and she's confused(...)
I havent lost respect for the characters cause they are just actors being told what to do .I've lost respect for tptb ESPECIALLY William Peterson
because instead of giving us what WE WANT they are doing what THEY want
GSR will pave the way for Catherine/Grissom:
What may seem like a bad thing for us GCers is actually somewhat okay for me in that, it creates wonderful angst and tension between Cath and Gil. And that's the best kind.
Let the SGers have their fun, but sooner or later, Gil's real love will catch up with him and ... heh. Yeah.
Internet petitions can change the world!:
Thank you for letting us reach our signature goalof 260. We have sent this petition to the CBS andCSI authorities and we really appreciate thatbecause of this petition, the media sites and CBSthemselves are taking a second look at therelationship of Grissom and Catherine, and toyingwith the possibility of hooking up Sara with otherguys. Thank you and your signatures and help wereappreciated.
Bring on season seven and the continued war of the shippers, I guess.
It's hot and I can't sleep, just lie there like a blob of energyless mass and think about snow and ice and frolicing in lakes. I'm half tempted to go sleep in the wine cellar, which holds a steady cool temp.
In a meme:
Name me a character or a ship from any of these - CSI, Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings - fandoms, and I'll tell you my favorite canon moment involving them, and my favorite wanky fandom moment involving them too. (Doesn't have to be a pairing or a character I am the hugest fan of as such, but please, no fanon!invented ships since those don't have Canon moments. Like Boromir/Harry Potter - they've never met and don't even share a Universe.)

Date: 2006-07-21 10:55 pm (UTC)and being a sara/grissom shipper myself (although i don't actively participate in that fandom, so i'm not involved in any of those bizarre ship wars), i am very well amused by those links. at least the ending didn't involve grissom/sofia. because that would have been really freaking wrong, lol.

Date: 2006-07-21 11:00 pm (UTC)Wanky fandom moment... Hum, good question. I think it was prior to season two, some reactions to spoilers about Mickey being being a companion with lots of rambling about it interrupting the twuwub.

Date: 2006-07-21 11:03 pm (UTC)I don't think I can remember any particular wanky fandom moments concerning him. Closest would have to be some wailing about JKR saying Luna/Neville wouldn't happen, I guess.

Date: 2006-07-21 11:06 pm (UTC)Hum, have to strain my memory a bit here - oh yeah, there was one wank on a slash mailing list about L/G blowjobs and the trouble of different size. Small, but was amusing.

Date: 2006-07-21 11:30 pm (UTC)Right, Catherine... Favourite moment, pretty much all of The Finger, the episode where she has to follow a guy to deliver random for a kidnapped girl, only whole thing turns out to be staged.
Favourite wank of pretty much all CSI fandom for is connected to Catherine - the idea and theories (serious) on Lindsey being Catherine and *Grissom's* daughter, not Eddie's. Ahahahahaha.

Date: 2006-07-21 11:34 pm (UTC)At the risk of looking like I'm seriously backpedaling, I think our reaction toward the Grissom/Sara was because we fell into the trap of seeing Grissom as sort of asexual (gee, that sounds like another fandom we know!) so it was a total WTF?? moment to see quite blatantly that he wasn't. I can so see Catherine/Warrick though!
Love the icon, btw!

Date: 2006-07-21 11:43 pm (UTC)Heh, no worries. I have plenty of friends who don't like that particular ship, no need to justify why to me. People like what they like and don't like what they don't like. All there is to it sometimes. Interesting that the idea of C/W does tend to cause less anti- reactions than Grissom/Sara does (I've noticed that quite a bit), though. Wonder what that's about...
Heh, my souvenir icon - I've been doing heaps of these wank posts after the CSI finale, so the icon was made for me to go with. I'll probably need a new one for when the season starts again.
