I have a hard enough time coming up with one idea I can follow through with, and you somehow manage a prolificness (prolificity?) that I find astounding. Not only do you manage to write longer pieces (Watson's Ghost, Adventures in Norway, e tc), but during the writing of those, you manage to get shorter, one-shots out. What's your secret, and how can I obtain the Magic Elixer of Plot Bunnies and Prolificness? =p
PS-Hope you're enjoying your day at work. I can't *STAND* that kind of schedule....which would explain why I work in the theatre, and am thus broke all. The damned. Time.

Date: 2006-08-04 12:26 pm (UTC)Hard to say what makes me have ideas, really. I mean, I am a journalist by education, so I have been trained in writing on command, basically. That probably helps. I read a lot, I think a lot, that sparks ideas. If I don't write for a while, I get a bit itchy. I guess I've just grown so used to it as an outlet that it just feels a bit automatic.
This day has been okay, really. Especially because I know there's a weekend at the end of it.

What was the kernel of an idea that first formed, and how did it get triggered off and then develop? It came from a thought I've had a while, namely how ghost stories often have the ghosts possessing the living and being dominant, but the ghosts are pale reflections of the living, so would they have the strength for that? What if it went the other way? It's an older idea that merged into another from watching too much CSI, where they often talk about the murdered having a voice. I thought it interesting to take it literally.
